My dear friend Pam is walking through a nightmare. Her son Andy was in a very serious car accident this past weekend and is in hospital with traumatic brain injuries. He is clinging to life and we are still hopeful even though his prognosis is not so good.
Does anyone have any idea of a group that I can refer her to for support?
Any ideas would be so appreciated,
Thanks, Sun

So What Happened?

Dear Susan,
Andy Passed a way. The injury was severe to both sides of his brain and also his brain stem. His Mom had the courage to donate his organs and today as many as six people will live because of Andy.
That is our miracle. It's not the one we wanted but it will be a prayer answered for those six families.
Thank you for you messages. I sincerely appreciate your support and prayers for Pam and Andy.
S.

Sutter Health has a breavement group that meets every Thursday, while I know the child is alive, and beleive he will make it through this, she and he family can be in a support group counseling that is wonderful, and free of cost!

I hope this will help, I don't know if she beleives in the outstanding power of prayer, but you might ask her if it is alright to have her child put on many prayer teams.

It is in Christ I have found the greatest healing of those prayed for!

Although I do not know of any groups off hand, I will keep your friend and her little boy in my thoughts and prayers. I will, in the meantime, keep and ear out and ask my family and friends if they know of a group for her.

Please tell your friend that our prayers are with her.
One year ago I went thru a similar experirnce with my 21 yr old son. He was in a car accident with brain injuries, a broken pelvis, broken eye socket, and puncutured bladder. I never thought I would make it thru......if he didn't make it thru!!
My son was @ Sutter Roseville Trauma center & they were so helpful to us.
I don't know of a specific support group but the hospital should have something for her,it's just so hard to ask. The hospital cleric (pastor) would be the first person or office to ask. Or even the ICU,the nurse's there will do just about anything to make it a lil easier for the parents.
I found that if you bring the nurses in ICU treats they will bend over backwards for you. I know this may seem odd but those nurse's work such long hard hours and in ICU it is very stressful (personally I couldn't do it I would bring home every patient with me). Since it was hard to stand around and do nothing but watch my son in bed I went a lil stir crazy & went home at 2am to bake brownies for the nurses. I don't think I have ever felt such appreciation in my life....sorry I know I got off topic.
Maybe you could ask around the hospital for her..
My son DID make a full recovery....THANK GOD !!!
He did have brain surgery but was released just 5 days after surgery to my amazment!! He still has no memeory of those weeks but everything is fine now.
God Bless...praying for you all!!!!

I am an energy healer (alternative medicine). One thing I know is that it is incredibly important for an injury like this to re-establish the energetic cross-over pattern. The exercise is called cross crawl described in Donna Eden's book "energy medicine."

Please call me, I would be willing to come and do a healing session for him. I've been to the ICU many times to help people. Or if you feel more comfortable, I could meet with you and Pam and show you what to do and teach you how to channel the energy for his healing. These techniques can cause no harm, they are spiritually based in pure love.

For her own emotional healing I recommend she download a free Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) manual at http://www.emofree.com

Hi S.,

There is a place in Sacramento, called Alta Regional. They specialize in head trauma resource and referrals. Located off of Watt Avenue, between El Camino and Botano. I hope this helps! And my prayers out to your friend and her son...

Dear S.,
I am terribly sorry to hear about your friends' son...I will keep him and his family in my heart and prayers...
...get online an go to Green Valley Christian Church on Green Valley Rd. in Placerville..they have some amazing counseling services and support groups...and if you don't find something there that fits for your friend, they can probably lead you to someone that is a fit...second, although I believe in miracles and am hopeful for this young man, if Jesus needs him in heaven, I would like to recommend Golden State Organ Donation if it is an option..my brother in law also had brain injuries following a freak accident..it was a beautiful selfless act for my sister to donate his organs to save the lives of two other people..also in some way comforting to her that some of her precious husband lives on...the people at Golden State were very kind and supportive...hope this helps..

God bless.....Peace K. Beal
