I highly recommend Jerry Varner. Brittney gave you his phone #. I will share with you the kind of gentleman he is. My husband was doing some work for a little lady in her 80's on a Saturday afternoon in the heat of summer. Her A/C was out and she had called several A/C companies and no one would answer her calls. My husband got a hold of Jerry after he had come in from work (after dark)and he and his wife were on their way out the door to get something to eat. He told my husband that he would go to her house the next morning (Sunday) which was awesome since no one else would even call her back. In a little bit, he called my husband back and told him that he could not leave a little elderly lady that night without A/C and he went to her house that night and fixed her A/C. Not many people left like that in our day and age. He is a great A/C and heating man besides being good hearted.

I do have a "don't" as far as the brand goes-Carrier. We moved into our brand new house 6 years ago and the outside unit went out after 3. Two companies said it was a manufacture's defect and Carrier refused to replace it. We spent $2,000 on a new compressor. We now have a Trane.

This is who we used (out of Garland) www.donspeights.com and we REALLY liked them. Nice, on time, honest.

We have used Bill Joplins and are very satified. A few months ago we were having problems and it turned into a fairly large bill. We couldn't pay the whole thing- not even half, but they did the repair anyway and let us pay it off. Not many people will do that kind of thing these days. They are very nice guys, too- friendly and respectful to me and my home.

The company that we have used several times and really like a lot is Colony Heat and Air. They are very reasonable and reputable. The company I would say to avoid is A#1 Heating and Air. They tried to rip us off and they are very high pressure sales people. I would never recommend them to anyone. Good luck!

I use Acme Air and can not say enough good things about them. They are a Christian family that works together. My A/C went out lat year and they even let me pay over time. I use www.servicemagic.com for all my contractor and repair needs because they are prescreened and you can be specific about the job you need done and the amount of time you wanting to start the project. I have gotten electricians and tile guys from there with reasonable rates and I was very happy with their work. PLUS, if you don't like the work they do- you can contact servicemagic and they post what you say about the service provided. Kind of a cool service.

We have always used Jerry Varner. He is out of Irving but will travel just about anywhere in the DFW area. He has been doing A/C work for over 30 years and has always been very reasonable. His number is ###-###-####.

We had an excellent experience with Avery heating and air. I had always heard their commercials on the radio and called when we had A/C problems during the summer. It ended up being an electrical issue with the main shut off light switch. He fixed it, performed an annual service on our system, and only charged us for that rather than an emergency visit (of course it stopped working on a weekend!). We have them coming out in a few weeks to do the annual service on our heater due to the honest service we received in the summer. Good luck!
