I'm 12 weeks pregnant and planning on having the CVS test. My OB is at Columbia Presbyterian. Does anyone know of a good doctor at Columbia or elsewhere in New York who has a great track record for performing the CVS tests? Someone who has a great deal of experience and low risk of miscarriages. Thanks

What can I do next?

I used the practice at Mt. Sinai for both of my CVS tests and was very pleased - Maternal Fetal Medicine - Joanne Stone and Keith Eddleman - ###-###-####

DO NOT go to Dr. Joanne Stone at Mt. Sinai. Dr. Stone is a liar who takes unnecessary risks. She doesn't listen or look through history, she simply recommends invasive procedures because that's how she gets paid. I'd have a perfectly healthy baby if not for her. DO NOT go to Dr. Joanne Stone at Mt. Sinai.

Daniel Roshan. My doctor on Madison and 36th. He's a pro specializes in high risk pregnancy. he does it in his own office and it doesn't hurt a bit, good luck

I would ask for your OB's recommendation then cross-reference and read more about the practitioner on www.choicesinchildbirth.org and also look for threads on UrbanBaby New York. If you don't see anything about the doctor your OB recommends, then post about the doctor on Urban Baby NY and see if you hear back from any NYC moms. Good luck!

I HIGHLY recommend going to Mt. Sinai for your CVS and using Dr. Edleman or Dr. Stone in the fetal medicine department. I can't find the number off hand but easy to look up. Dr. Edelman did both of my CVS's. I am sure there are great mds at columbia as well, but Dr. Edelman helped to save my son's life (unrelated to the CVS) that he is the only one I wanted to use to perform my cvs with baby #2.

Don't you need to get it done soon? Let me know if you have any other questions.

Good luck with your decision
