My husband and I are moving to Manhattan from Chicago in late June, mid-pregnancy. Does anyone have an OBGYN recommendation (NOT a boutique doctor)? Also, what hospital is he or she affiliated with and did you have a good experience at the hospital?

Thank you so much for any advice you can offer!

Dr. Joshua Holden @ Columbia Presbyterian. ###-###-####

He is excellent and has delivered my son and my friends babies as well.

He has a few other doctors in his practice that are fantastic as well.

He has two offices. One is 161 Fort Washington Ave. (right behind Columbia Presbyterian.) It is accessible by both subway or bus.

Columbia Presbyterian also has a highly acclaimed high-risk neo-natal care facility.

In case you wanted a female doctor as an option, Dr. Abbe Wain. She is associated with Mt. Sinai. Her offices are on the Upper East Side in the 80's.
I think she's terrific. She's been my gyn for 15 years or more and she is always gentle, kind, and never panicky, though she has always been careful to check on things that are not quite right instead of letting them go. I love her. I'm always amazed that she asks about all medical conditions (has a record of them!), not just those related to her field.
The reason that I went to her was on a recommendation from my friend Trish. Dr. Wain delivered all three of her children and Trish raved about her. She said she was so patient and let my her wait it out in a difficult labor and deliver vaginally when other doctors would have pushed for the c-section.
I myself adopted so I have no personal experience with her as an ob, but Trish says she's the best. I think she was happy with Mt. Sinai too, and it looked very nice when I went to visit.
Welcome to NY! I am on the UWS too (70's), so if you need further recommendations on pediatricians or even non-baby related questions, I'd be happy to help.

My doctor was AMAZING
Her name is Michelle Morgan 620 Columbus Ave Suite 2
New York, NY 10024 and her number is ###-###-####. She delivers at Mt Sinai on the east side. I delivered both my kids with her at Mt Siani, and we had a great experience. They have a whole dedicated maternity building, two floors of patient rooms, the nurses were happy to help me with breastfeeding, labeled my kids as no formula. They support rooming in. Spouses can't stay overnight unless you are in a private room tough.
The nurses didn't even bat an eye when I came in ready for a natural delivery. I felt supported every step of the way.
Congrats!

Dr. Victor Mok. His office may also come up as Edward Mok, his father now retired. My mom and all her friends all see him as well as myself and several of my friends. In fact, his dad delivered. And they both delivered my son. They are of the best in nyc. Associated with new york presbyterian also one of the best hospitals in nyc. All the nurses were fantastic.

Dr. Mok is patient, caring and knowledgeable. He answered all my husband nutty questions well. He's careful and cautious while also not obnoxiouly over protective/restrictive.

He's a family mom himself with two children of his own.

And heck, he, his father, and their receptionist Sarah all attended my wedding seven years ago.
