Hi I a have a 1 yr old and would like to find a new pediatrician. Her current dr who I love is moving far away and the other one I saw in the past in that practice seems rushed and not as caring as I think he should be. His response when I asked him about trying a new formula when she was a few weeks old and throwing up and crying after eating was "she'll get over it." He is a well- respected dr but I would like a kinder, gentler person for my child. Any suggestions? I also want someone who is willing to give shots at my pace meaning I split up some shots like if 4 have to be given at a time I do 2 at that visit and then 2 shots 2 weeks later plus I need a dr who is willing to split up the MMR injection into 3 shots instead of combining. Thank you!

What can I do next?

I'm sorry this is so late-I have been with Downers Grove Peds for over 8 yrs now and love them. ###-###-####. They are on Main street across from Mucullom Park. Think ther are 5 or 6 docs in the practice now-we are particular to Dr. Webb.

Good luck!

Meds are nothing to play around with..your childs health is more important than that. Your child is more use to this ped than someone she's never seen so just talk to him and tell him that you would appreciate his being a little more personal with your child. I'de tell him that he ack like he doesn't care at all. That ought to knock it out of him. Sometimes a dr. can be so busy that they get caught up in just getting "caught up".

Dr. mark Weiss and his partners are great. They are located on 22nd st in Lombard (behind Target/Yorktown). He came highly recommended when my family first saw him 4 years ago.

I also would recommend Dr. Joe Christensen with Central DuPage Health. I switched my twin boys there from another practice and I'm so glad I did. He is conveniently located right off 355 and Roosevelt Rd. The ph # is ###-###-####.

Well, she's a little further from your area but check out Dr. Ambler at 55 E Loop Rd, wheaton, Il 60187. Her husband is my internist and they have 3 kids of their own. She has a good reputation and I understand she is a excellent caring doctor. She is in a group practice so if you decide you don't like her there are a couple of other's in the same practice you can check out. The office is on Naperville Rd just north of Danada shopping center.

Did not like DuPage Pediatrics in Darien, can tell you why if you want to email me separately (____@____.com), but I love the Homefirst practice (their website lists all their locations, but I've been to Naperville and Orland Park locations, and I really like Dr. Zumhagen. They do not push AT ALL the vaccines and recommend that you do the research and tell them which ones you want. Good luck.

I bring my kids to DuPage Pediatrics in Darien. I's on Plainfield Road near 75th and Cass. I LOVE them. We mainly see Dr. Gardner, who is older and just wonderful. He is willing to break up the vaccines, since that is what we do. I have never felt rushed and he is great about answering any questions.

There are several doctors and I think we've seen them all. We've only had one bad experience and that was with Dr. Huang. I don't know if we just caught her on a bad day, but we won't see her again.

the office staff is wonderful, they are quick to return calls, and they have evening and saturday hours. I've never had a problem getting my kids seen.

The phone number is ###-###-####, I think.

I have an eight week old and am going to Hinsdale Pediatrics. I see Dr. Lisa Franco there, but there are four physicians I believe. She is great! Very understanding, knowledgable, and a great listener. She also has been willing to do vaccinations at my pace. 630/323-0890. Good luck!

Dr. Coufal (female) is WONDERFUL.. she is based out of the physicians office center attached to Good Samaritan Hosp in Downers Grove.. also has priveleges at Hinsdale hosp.. we have been going to her for 6 1/2 years now. 3 kids 1st was a preemie by 8 weeks... she has always been very kind, and thorough. But ALWAYS takes the time to engage the children 1st. They love her. So much so, that we drive 25 minutes to get to her office.. we live in Bolingbrook, and I am sure there are dr.s closer for us. But we are unwilling to switch, since we like her so much, and the kids are not afraid of her.
###-###-#### is her number (just called it today, since my 6 year old has an earrache....)

Hi!
We use DuPage Pediatrics in Darien--not sure if it is too far for you, but they are out of Hinsdale Hospital. I actually heard about them from others on Mamasource and am SO glad I switched to them! Dr. Hall is my favorite, but all are nice including the office staff and nurses. I can always get in same day when one of the kids is sick which is important to me!!

Hi,
I use Dr DeStefani and Dr Christenson at the Health track fitness in Glen Ellyn, right on Roosevelt and 53. They are absolutely wonderful. They are part of CDH and are building a new office right next to where they are at now. I highly recommend them.

I can also recommend General Pediatrics at Good Sam. My 3 kids have been going there for over 24 years. There are (were) 5 doctors in the practice. You can choose your main doctor for regular checkups and stuff, each being in on a regular schedule, and for emergency visits you may see someone different, but they are all excellent. My youngest will be 18 next spring, and hates the idea of changing doctors. Good Luck.
