Pediatrician Affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital

I am looking for a pediatrician affiliated with Hinsdale hospital. We are moving to the area and I need to find a pediatrician soon for my 2 1/2 year old. I would like the pediatrician to be affiliated with Hinsdale hospital so that we will be able to use that same pediatrician when our twins are born (due in Feb '09).

I would like a pediatrician that is kid friendly. While that seems obvious, I have found that not all pediatricians are that way. I would also like someone who is willing to listen to your list of questions and not make you feel like they are silly and you shouldn't be asking them.

Thanks in advance for the help.

What can I do next?

Hi C.!
I would like to recommend the practice of "DuPage Pediatrics"

located on Plainfield Road just west of Cass Ave. in Darien,Ill.
I know many who take their children to this practice.
Dr. Davis is very "up"on the latest of everything...
Good Luck!(dr. Kelly -also good...)
Do not rec. Dr. Huang.
D. G. Downers Grove,Il

Hinsdale Pediatrics is great. Very nice staff. We have seen Dr. Franco for 11 years. One of the best doctors I have ever met. I must comment though, I do not like Dr. Cathy Campbell. I find her to be the LEAST child friendly doctor I have had the misfortune of meeting with. I think she is condescending and not very sensitive. Dr. Dan Campbell has a great reputation and is supposed to be a fantastic doctor. However, the times I have met with him, because Franco was out, I always felt rushed and left there with questions unanswered.

I take my son to Kay Kelly from Dupage Pediatrics in Darien. She's very nice and open minded. She doesn't just push to do things her way because she's the doc. Your kids your decisions. She's also very patient, our first visit lasted abut an hour because we had so many questions. Good Luck.

I just gave birth at Hinsdale. The staff there is so nice. Of course it helped that I had a doula (artisticbirth.com) but I had a wonerful experience.

I use Dr. Mary Lewis for my son. She is affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital. She has a private practice in Lagrange on Joliet Rd. Her number is ###-###-####. SHe is great with kids. The staff is great. She is also open to alternative medicine as well like chiropractic care which is a plus since I am a chiropractor that specializes in kids. I live in Elmhurst and drive 30 minutes to see her. I highly recommend her. She also is alwya on time. I have never ever waited more than 2 minutes to see her and when my son got sick they got me in the same morning.

Dr. B.

I use Downers grove Pediatrics, my OB brought his kids there and his grandkids go there. Dr. Emelio Cabana started the practice and we bring our daugher to see his son Dr. John Cabana they are wonderful there! ###-###-####
Dr. Cabana has two little ones of his own and he is so good about listening and answering questions, he never makes you feel rushed and he also asks a lot of questions which I like too!

Good Luck!

I have been taking my daughter to Hinsdale Pediatrics since her birth (JAN 04) We see Dr. Dan Campbell and LOVE him! HE told me once to always follow your mothers instinct, that symptoms don't always dictate when/if your child should see the Dr., that to me was some of the best advice I had ever gotten.
He speaks directly to my daughter, not at her, or to me about her. He always puts her mind at ease, explains what he is doing, why he is doing it, etc. She doesn't mind going to see Dr. Dan.
The other Doctors have always been great too, easy to get in when you need to, the nurses always talk to you when you have a question, the staff is very personable and polite. I highly recommend Hinsdale Pediatrics.

We go to Hinsdale Pediatrics right off off Ogden and Elm. The number is ###-###-#### and the docs are wonderful there. I live in Orland Park but use Hinsdale Hospital because thats where my OB/GYN is and she referred us to Hinsdale Peds. We've been going there for almost 6 yrs. I really think you should give them a try! They're also only 5 min. or so from the hospital.

We use Lisa Franco and love her. You have to wait a while in the waiting room, but she listens to your concerns and doesn't make you feel at all silly. She is with Hinsdale Pediatrics 630/323-0890

Hello! I go to Family Practice 911 N. Elm St. Suite 301 Hinsdale @ ###-###-####. A family practice office I have been going to for 10 years now. When I delivered my son (3yrs. old now) @ Hinsdale hospital the dr. Brown and dr. Fortman do rounds for the infants just born, so they checked on my son right after he was born. I love the practice because we can get right in and see our favorite physicians assistant Mrs. Thommen. I know you are looking for a peds, but I just love how my kids have always been a priority there, and we don't have to sit in the waiting room filled with a bunch of sick kids for an hour. Best of luck.

Hi C.,

I live in LaGrange and we use LaGrange Pediatrics. We see Dr. Matray and have been very pleased with both how he treats my husband and I as well as our son. My sister and a good friend also use the same pediatrician. I have been a very nervous first time mom and have had a million questions each time we have had a visit to the pediatrician. He has taken the time to answer my questions and never once made me feel ridiculous or as if I were wasting his time. My son had many ear infections which brought on high fevers - we were always able to get an appointment the same day and most times Dr. Matray would call the next day to follow up with how my son was doing. He is affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital as are all of his partners. The number is: ###-###-####. Good Luck!
