Seeking Highly Recommended Pediatrician for My Children
We recently relocated from Phoenix, AZ and I am searching for a pediatrician for my 1 and 4 year old. All advice is welcome both positive and negative. We would like the office to be in or near DuPage County. I would love a separate well and sick child entrance, but if the doctor is highly recommended, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Wow... what a change. Are you going to be ready for our winter weather? :)
Anyway, I'd recommend Dr. Michael Reicherts. He's at 4043 S. Rt. 59 in Naperville and his number is ###-###-####. He does have a wellness side as well as a sick side entrance. Most of all, they have an excellent on time history. So, you don't spend hours waiting to see the doctor.

We have been going to Wheaton Pediatrics for 11yrs. I live in St Charles, so it is a 1/2 drive, but I love the practice and doctors.
They do not have a seperate sick child entrance, but they do have a seperate room. They also just recently added sick call visits on Sundays as well as Saturdays.
They have 7 doctors and 2 nurse practitioners. I have seen almost all the doctors. My favorites are Dr Liber ( who started the practice), and Dr Monson.

Welcome to Chicagoland! Hope you like it here.
As to your doc question, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mary Mikhailov known affectionately by all as "Dr. Mary." She is thorough, very knowledgeable & has a good bedside manner.
She's out of the Central DuPage Physician Group located at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. It's super easy and I love that you can use the hospital's valet parking, which is handy with little ones.
Take care!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Elmhurst Pediatrics, located in downtown Elmhurst. They do not have separate entrances, but sick kids are asked to come in the morning, and well visits in afternoon/evenings. They also get you in the exam room right away so you're not sitting around in the waiting room.
The staff are so friendly, and the docs will actually return your calls if you have questions. They even called my husband at work right after I took in my daughter to tell him she was NOT colicky, lol.
The practice was recommend to me by a friend who is a pediatric nurse practioner. I figured if she takes her own kids to Elmhurst instead of where she workds, they must be pretty good!

Welcome to Chicagoland and Wheaton!!!
I have been extremely happy with Wheaton Pediatrics! Some of the benefits are: wonderful, caring Pediatricians who are excellent with children (my favorites are Drs. Ambler, Monson, and Rucoba); I can always get a sick-call appt the same day; the phone-in nurse staff is extremely responsive and always return my calls when I have questions; they have Sunday appts available; and, finally, they have two nurses to administer the injections at the same time on your child, to help decrease the amount of trauma.
There is one entrance. As the PP said, there is a regular waiting room and a "sick" waiting room. Furthermore, if your child is being seen for a rash, they immediately take you to an exam room in a different part of the office (so the child is never with other children). Finally, newborns are always taken right into an exam room and never wait in a public area.

We have been going to ABC Pediatrics in Naperville since my son was born 5 years ago. www.abcpediatrics.net. I have nothing but good things to say about the practice. Our primary doctor is Dr. Law but if she were to leave for some reason I would feel comfortable switching to any of the other four doctors in the practice. They do have a sick entrance for highly contagious infections and rashes. The other things I like about the practice:
* Phone nurse Mon-Fri if you have any questions from sunscreen to illness or if you aren't sure if you should bring your child in.
* Saturday hours 8 am until the last patient is seen(sick visits only)
* You always see your primary doctor for well visits. They try to put you in for sick visits with them but otherwise will fit you in with another dr asap.
* I have never felt rushed at a sick or well visit.
* Nurses are all wonderful
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Dr. Christine Ibrahim and Dr. Koffler with West Suburban Pediatrics are wonderful!!! We have been with them for the past 4 years. They are located in Lombard right behind the mall. It's really easy to get to off of Highland Ave and 22ne Ave.

I go to Dr. Peggy Supple in Downers Grove. She is wonderful! She is the only doctor there and really gets to know the kids quickly. She also doesn't have any nurses, so she does everything. My 2 year old LOVES her! You are always put in a room immediately so there isn't a waititng room, which I like too. Another thing I love about her is that she takes phone calls at night and on the weekends. If you call the office and the office is closed, they will call her at home or page her and she will either talk to you right away or return the phone call within the hour. Her phone number is ###-###-####.
