Hi,
I just moved to the area and am a month or so pregnant with my second child. I'm looking for a female OB GYN doctor in the Eagan area. Can anyone suggest a great hospital and or doctor? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I go to Allina Eagan. It is on Yankee Doodle and Lexington. I go to Dr. Michael Spence. I love him. I have seen him for over 6 years. I first saw him when I pregnant with my first child. I now have 3 children and he is who I saw for all three. If you would rather see a woman, there are a few women doctors there that I have seen when he couldn't get me in. they were all great!

I'm also pregnant with number 2! I go to Dr. Carolyn Borow at Allina in Eagan. She's a family medicine dr. so we also take our 2 year old son to her. We delivered at United with our first one and she delivered him. Any more questions let me know. Congrats!!!

Hi B. - I just had my second child at Fairview Ridges Hospital. I was a little nervous at first b/c it was my first pregnancy in the Twin Cities too. Fairview Ridges was great - they also have a great Big Brothers/Sisters class for your family - which includes a hospital tour for the siblings (and you of course). My daughter LOVED it and was even more excited to become a big sister. It helped her feel very comfortable in the hospital and know that Mommy was going to be safe. I had a planned c-section and everything went very well. The team of nurses and drs were great and accommodating to me and my family. I went to Southdale ObGyn Consulants which is actually right next to the hospital. It is located in Burnsville but it's a quick drive if you head west on McAndrews - the trip took only 10 minutes from Pilot Knob. It was nice to have the hospital so close to the practice b/c when I had some bleeding when I was at 35 weeks, they had me go to the hospital for some tests to make sure everything was ok (which it was). I had Dr. Davenport - she was awesome. During my prenatal visits, I met with many other drs as well just in case I went earlier than my due date. Many of the dr's I met there were excellent. Also, our pediatrician's office is also right there by Fairview - it's called Southdale Pediatrics - which is the building to the left of the hospital. VERY convenient! Good Luck!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! My Ob/Gyn (but only in like a doctor way ;)Dr. Chou and Diamond Women's Center. He's fabulous! He is thourough. He is almost always the one who calls you back when you call with a question. He has called me on a Sunday, from his house just to check on me after I have had a procedure done. Seriuously, He is the best doctor I have ever had. ###-###-#### Tell him Noël sent you. ;)
Oh and he's in Edina.

Oh and I delivered at Abbott with him and I was quite pleased. I've never been a fan of the Fairview siystem. And Abbott has pretty decent food, too.

I gave delivered all three of my children at Fairview Ridges in Burnsville and was very pleased. I also go to Southdale Obgyn in Burnsville and have seen a variety of the Drs there.
Dr Tweety delivered my last child. I had three very different deliveries and was quite pleased with their personnel response to each one. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure about OBGYN's in Eagan but I gave birth at Woodwinds twice and loved it! It is a nice, compassionate environment. I have also heard good things about St. Joes downtown St. Paul (and that might be closer for you). Good luck :-)

Don't know of one in the Eagan area, but you could drive to Minneapolis and see great Docs at the Women's Health Consultants, affiliated with Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Let me know if you're interested in driving to Edina--there are some great ones there as well.

I live in Burnsville, but go to Park Nicollet Clinic in Shakopee. It is a little bit of a drive, but is well worth it. I've had my first two children at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee and will have my third there in August. They have Nurse Midwives there as well as women Dr.s so there are different options. Hope this helps!

Hello,

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I am pleased, to HIGHLY rec. Southdale Obgyn in Burnsville - esp. Dr. Torres and Dr. Meschke. You would deliver at Fairview - we had 2 great and very different labor experiences there.

I've been going there since I was 18 and they've helped me through so much throughout the years, the delivery of our 2 children, etc.

Good luck - take care!

St. John's in Maplewood was a great place I delivered at. I would avoid Woodwinds. They never plugged my bed in the wall and when I called the nurse because my baby was breathing oddly nobody came! They also didn't do the blood pressure cuff right because it tightened but never released and my had was going so numb. I see Dr. Mahan at The Comprehensive Healthcare for Women and she is great! Slow speaking and spends gobs of time with you. She books out fast but when I was pregnant I never had any issues with her. She's located off of 494 in Woodbury.
