I am looking for an Ob in the south metro area. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would prefer a woman, but am not opposed to a man.

What can I do next?

I don't know if Shakopee is too far West for you, but the ob/gyns at the Allina Medical Clinic are the best. I see Evan Griffiths but I have seen the female doctor Gillman as well and she is great too.

Southdale OB/GYN consultants was a great office - I saw several of the women there with my last child. There is also 2 male drs that I saw (one b/c he was the on-call dr and I was spotting and the other b/c he was the hospital dr that was making rounds) were great too! I prefer women also and was quite nervous to have a male dr - but, they made sure I was comfortable AND I know the one had a great sense of humor which made me much more relaxed. Anyways, the main dr I had was Dr. Davenport - she was very nice, very good at answering all my questions/easing my concerns, and was overall a great OB to work with when I had my son (who I had by c-section). She was EXCELLENT in the OR making things much more comfortable for me - she talked to me like a friend as well as a professional. Many of the women dr's there are down-to-earth like that too. I recommend scheduling different drs throughout pregnancy anyway b/c you want to know the on-call dr that day (in my opinion).
As far as location - it's right next to Fairview Ridges and Southdale Pediatric Clinic - making hospital visits or your child's dr appts easy to get to. It is located in a great location if you live in Eagan, AV, or Burnsville - the clinic is in Burnsville, but, if you just head down McAndrews - you can either take Portland Avenue OR Nicollet. Good Luck to you!

I go to Park Nicollet Clinic in Burnsville and see Addie Charlton (Nurse Practitioner)for annual exams, and saw Dr. Carrie Kremer during my pregnancy/delivery. Both of these women are AWESOME!! Addie is in high demand and everyone loves her. Dr. Kremer was wonderful and stayed with me during my whole 2 hours of pushing, not just coming in for the last 2 minutes to deliver my baby. I highly recommend both of these women.

Dr. Allan Hartsough at Fairview Ridges clinic in Burnsville is great! I switched to him for my second pregnancy. He was recommended to me by a few people including a labor and delivery nurse. He's very calm and professional. Also a huge bonus for me, he is very punctual-I'm usually in and out of the clinic in a half hour (my previous OB was a woman and I could be at the clinic for HOURS waiting to see her).
