Seeking a Good Pediatician

Our current pediatrician is in Plano and we now live in the Dallas area around Marsh and Royal. Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician that would be closer for us? Someone that has a great persona and really gets to know the kids. Right now my youngest is a bit afraid of going to the doctor because it seems like we see someone different in there every time we go. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you ALL for your responses. Now I have somewhere to start in our hunt for a good pediatrician. Finding a nice, thorough, reliable Dr. for my kids means a lot to me. Upon reading these to my husband he said that Dr. Brown was his ped. as a child and he was surprised, but glad, to hear that he was still in the area. We will probably start there to see if he is excepting new patients. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!

I second the vote for Forest Lane Pediatrics at Medical City (Forest/75). I have been nothing short of impressed with all the Drs. in this practice. When we started there 2 years ago, there were just two Drs., now there are 4. We see Dr. Straughn and I love how he sits down each time and asks, "So, how are things going?" And he truly wants to hear it. I love having a Dr. who will listen to my concerns. I never feel rushed with him! Their phone number is ###-###-####.

My kiddos see Dr. Daniel Nale at Medical City Dallas, I live at Marsh & Forest. I don't know if that's too far for you. His number is ###-###-####. His physical address is 1 Forest Medical Plaza, Ste 405, Dallas, 75251. He is calm with the kids, he has a great way with them. Doesn't panic over things. He has many times worked us in later in the day when the kids are sick, I've never been turned away. There are two other doctors in the practice, who are very nice as well. They have Saturday hours as well if the kids are sick. Let me know if you would like anymore information about him :). Are you a member of the North Dallas Early Childhood PTA yet? You should consider joining, the group has been a GREAT source of information for our family. I can give you any information about the NDECPTA that you would like. -jm

Dr Ron Blair w/ Forest Lane Pediatrics at Medical City. All docs in the practice are great. They will set up a "meet the doc" appt for you and your kids just to answer questions and meet to see what you think. ###-###-#### You generally work with one doc..but they are all smart and personable.

We love them. They (the docs, not just the staff) take time to make sure you have all the info and answers you need/want. My boys are happy to go to the doc.

good luck!! SSH

My daughter goes to Dr. Michael Brown at Pediatric Assoc of Dallas also. I think he is great! We've seen a few other doctors there and they are all really nice. Dr. Dennison is very nice if for some reason Dr. Brown isn't taking new patients (I heard he wasn't but could have just been a rumor).

Good luck with your search!

We used Pediatric Associates of Dallas - (PAD), Dr. Michael Brown was our primary doctor. Two of my grown children all but refused to see another doctor after they turned 18, one at 26 says he would still go back to Dr. Brown! We were a part of the practice for over 27 years. My grandchildren are now going there. There are a number of drs in the practice and it was great knowing that if Dr. Brown wasn't there we could trust the others drs. as well.

Hi A.,

I totally recommend Pediatricians of Dallas. They have a great group, and we've seen the same doctor every time we've been. (3 times thus far with our newborn). We see Dr. Yaeger and I've been impressed at how friendly and yet professional he is. He thoroughly examines my child, and patiently talks to me through whatever questions I might have. They also have an advice line that I can call 24-7 to talk to a nurse for free. They're located off Walnut Hill and 75. The number is ###-###-####

Ernie Fernandez is located on Walnut Hill by Presby....he is also a diabetes specialist with an office with the endo clinic a Children's. My son was telling me last night that one of the reasons he wants to become a pediatrician is Dr Ernie....the man is in practice by himself so you can see him every time but he has associates if it is during the time he is at Camp Sweeney (camp for kids with diabetes that he spends most of the summer at).....we no longer see him due to changes in insurance and I have never found anyone else.....his committment to kids is huge....good luck! (oh great office staff too)

Hi A.!

Is Presby Dallas closer to you? My kids' Ped is on Walnut Hill Ln across from the hospital and his name is Ross Finkelman, but everybody from his group (called PAD) is awesome.

Good luck!
