Seeking Good Pediatrician in North Dallas Area

We live in Mesquite but I have been very happy with Dr. Burns and Dr. Shin. They are located across from Presby Hosp. These are two mothers that spilt the week between each other and there are 6 other pediatricians located out of their office. Calls from nurses get returned promptly no matter what time and the clinic is open 6 or 7 days out of the week. I think it's 7 days out of the week and a doctor out of that group is always on call. ###-###-#### ext.#5

Frisco may be too far, but I LOVE Dr. Deborah Bain. She is wonderful and focuses on the core issues; not just how to medicate. She goes against the grain (doesn't care for the politics in her field) and cares for the whole child. I can not say enough good about this woman and her practice; she has been a god-send to our family.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Ernie Fernandez. My daughter, type 1 diabetes since 1997, saw him for years until insurance change and it was such a comfort to see a doc that really specialized in 'special' kids. The down side is he works all summer at Camp Sweeney - camp for kids with diabetes - but I found him well worth it.

There is a group in Medical Cities and I believe they are all good. My sister-in-law takes her kids to one doc and we went to another. Recommended by our pediatric neurologist about 10 years ago. They have never let us down.

We love Dr. Straughn at Forest Lane Pediatrics. They are located in bldg B at Medical City. There are 5 doctors in the practice and we have seen 3 of them (only when we needed to get in same day did we see another doctor). They are all great. Several other moms on here love them as well. Their number is ###-###-####. Dr. Staughn always takes the time to listen to my concerns and I never feel rushed with him!
