Carter Road has a playground. If you are coming from South Florida AVE. past the Super Wal-mart continue down just a little ways and it is there on the right. (same side of the road as Wal-mart)
Hopes this helps.
There is also a park in Bartow (mary higgins park) let me know if you want directions to that one.

Bananna Lake Park is a good one: lake, big area, fenced, huge new playground setup. It's just off of Clubhouse road (Which connects Lakeland Highlands and 98.) There's also a smaller playground on Edgewood Drive just west of Lakeland Highlands - but it's not too far away from Edgewood Dr. itself. There's also Peterson Park on Cleveland Heights BLVD which has baseball fields and a hiking trail, and Carter Road Park down near the Mulberry Walmart that has sports fields and a Dog park.

My husband and I enjoy taking our kids to Lake Bonny Park. It's right off of 98 across from Lakeland High School. It's got separate equipment for infants and toddlers, and then equipment for older children, which is nice.
It's fenced in and well-shaded. If you've got any questions, feel free to respond back. I have a 2 year-old little girl and a one-year old little boy.
