Is this actually ringworm or just assuming because it is round? My daughter has very similar and we are putting hydrocortisone to prevent any itching and Eucerin cream. It is helpiing, though not totally get rid of it. The doc said it is a form of Eczema though, not ringworm. My older children had ringworm when they were little and we only used hydrocortisone on it. they finally stopped getting it. However, one of my girls also had eczema on her legs/thighs but eventually outgrew it.

Anti fungal cream - Lotrimin, Lamasil or Monistat. Yep-vaginal cream can work. Sounds crazy, but Ringworm, athletes foot and yeast infections are all fungus and can be treated with these items. use the cream 3 times a day and it should be completely gone in about 2 to 3 weeks. Remember it is highly contaigous so if your child goes to day care, you need to let them know. Also, make sure you wash clothing, bedding and hands constantly.
These are usually what a doctor would reccommend also. However, sometimes ringworm is stubborn and doesn't go away and you will have to go on an anti-fungal pill like Diflucan, which only a doctor can prescribe.
I have heard that using bleach and applying it with a qtip might work too, which is a common household item, however, I am not sure about applying bleach to a toddler's skin.

Yes, any antifungal cream will cure it. If you don't have any, buy the generic it's so much cheaper! Also, sunlight really cures it. It sounds like it could be in a tricky place, but maybe she could put her swimsuit on and lay out back on a towel with her backside up. The sun is what works the best!

Dear S.:

A few years ago my brand-new kitten had ringworm. The vet recommended rubbing in an over-the-counter vaginitis cream twice a day. She also suggested if I got ringworm from the cat doing the same thing. It worked great.

The monistat cream definitely works. It will knock it out in no time. I spotted one on my daughter and after 3 days it was almost gone.

I am an Early Childhood teacher, and I get ringworms occasionally from my students who have cats. For me, I dip a Q-tip in bleach, and swab the ringworm with it. For children, you use half bleach, half water. The ringworm dies instantly, and it takes 3 days to dry up and disappear.
Good luck!

Urine, take some of her urine on put on there every time she goes to the rest room and in two or three days it will be gone. I know it sounds weird but it worked for my son. And don't worry, urine is sterile!

I've used clear finger nail polish and it did the trick. You may have to keep applying layers on it daily (keeps it from getting air, which kills it). Good luck!

Try the fungus foot cream...for athlete's feet. I found out through great aunt awhile back and it works! Take a q-tip add the cream on the tip rub it on the area then put a band-aide on it to cover from smearing/or getting on everything. Then change 3x a day until its gone. If that doesn't work you may have to get a cream from your pediatrician. Good luck!
