Hi - so finally it looks like we are relocating to Waco now in August...
I need help finding a good area to find a rental at...I prefer to have a school within walking distance....
I have looked in Robinson and in the Mountainview Elementary area...any opinions? Is zip code 73710 pretty safe to be out and about with the kids?
Also, I need help finding a good pediatrician...
Anything helps...
Thanks a bunch!!!!

Hi S.,

Welcome to Waco! I have lived in this area for more than 10 years and I can honestly say that I love it. I currently live in Robinson, but am in the process of building a house in Lorena. The Mountainview area is nice, as well! There are lots of good places to live in Waco. I think Kelly Realtors has a couple of agents that deal with rental properties so you may want to give them a call.

I have one little girl and we do not use a pediatrician - we use our family doctor, Scott Blattman. He is fabulous! In fact, all of the family doctors at his clinic are great (Hillcrest Hwy 6 and Bosque Clinic). If you are set on using a pedi, I hear good things about Drs. Nesmith and Chakmakjian.

Hope this helps you! Feel free to convo me if you have any additional questions.

Hewitt is also a great place to live. Ranked 44th best place to live in the US by Money Magazine. Excellent schools here in Hewitt. Robinson is also good and Mountainview Elementary is good as well. Scott and White Pediatricians are excellant. They are located in the new Hillcrest hospital off of I 35. in an office building #2.

Welcome to Waco! I live in Robinson, too, and we like it. Hewitt and Woodway are also nice areas. I've heard nothing but good things about Mountainview as well.

Regarding a pediatrician, we use James Ferguson. He's the best. I've also heard good things about Dr. Nesmith. If you go with a family practitioner, I highly recommend Dr. John Shelton. I have friends who see Todd Blattman and are very happy as well.

Waco has a lot to offer families—the Mayborn Museum, Cameron Park, Cameron Park Zoo, Waco Water Park, libraries, spray parks, just to name a few.
