I am in the process of researching daycares but I dont have any family or friends around to get referrals. Does any one have any suggestions on the best daycares.

I am also having trouble with finding a good pediatrician for my little girl. We have one right now but its not working out.

Any information would be greatful! Thank you

Stepping Stone daycare is awesome and they have about 16 locations.

Capital Pediatrics - Sandra Treybig is our pediatrician and we love her.

Dr. White or Dr. Owens are awesome at ARC RR ###-###-####, and we used to live in South Austin and used Dr. Nauert ###-###-####. I really like them all. Don't know about daycare sorry.

I also take my children to Dr. Nancy Owens at the Round Rock ARC. I love her and she is very encouraging and is willing to talk about all concerns.

We have an awesome pediatrician. Her name is Dr. Lyn Azuma and she is with the Scott and White clinic on Wells Branch. Her number is ###-###-####. She is incredible and by far the best pediatrician we've ever had. Now that I've found her, I will never leave her. Dr. Azuma is a mom and a huge advocate for children. She is very thorough and extremely pro active. Hope you like her!

Treehouse Pediatrics in Round Rock. We see Dr. Travis and he is *awesome*. Our experience with Treehouse has been fantastic and we can't recommend it high enough!

Our preschool/daycare is Acorn Learning Academy in Round Rock, and we love it. The owner and previous director worked with Round Rock ISD to learn what Kinder expectations are to be sure they prepared kids well. From my two kids we see hands on projects and learning through play NOT worksheets. I don't want to see worksheets coming home. (I am an elementary teacher, so I have high expectations.) In younger rooms, the baby and toddler care is excellent. It's small, so it's like being part of a family. All the teachers really care about my kids. They give several teachers hugs on the way to their room each morning. They all "know" my kids---which books they'll want from the book fair, what songs and toys they'll love, and how to soothe them when upset. We are very pleased.

I used to think Stepping Stone was the place to be. Right now I know at least 5 families whose children were or are there, and none of them have been happy. I think it depends on which location. The director is important, but most important is the teacher. It just depends.

As for pediatricians, we decided to go to our family doctor instead of a pediatrician after age 2. It has worked out wonderfully. Sick children always seem to get priority---no waiting for appointments, in and out in 30 minutes or less (with twins!) They always call the sick kiddos first. In a peditrician's office, it's full of sick kids. We go to Dr. Putney at Family Medicine Associates.

Good luck with your search!
