Has any one heard of a test called "Sweat Test"? My 6 year old has to have that test done. She has been having problems with her stomach, They tested her for hirschprung's and for Celiac's disease and both came back negative. Blood work came back and her Liver enzymes are high and so is her Thyroid. And advice would be great. Thank you

My daugther had a sweat test when she was hospitalized for breathing issues, it was to test for Cystic Fibrosis. I am not sure if they use it for other things. It did not hurt her at all it looks like a minature car battery and they place a disk on her arm and it is conneccted to the battery and it generates sweat that the disk collects.

My son had to have that test done, it was done at All Children's Hospital. (All Children’s was the only place we found that did it) They did it because I carry a dominate gene for cystic fibrosis. It not bad, just a little uncomfortable for the child. They put a device for collecting sweat on the child's skin, and a colorless, odorless chemical is applied that causes the child to sweat. Then they collect the sweat and its analyzed for sodium and chloride. My son was 1 when he had his done, I'm sure it will be a lot easier since your child is older. Good Luck!!

The "Sweat Test" is the standard diagnostic test for cystic fibrosis. They look for a high salt level in the persons sweat which will indicate the disease. If I were you I would google cystic fibrosis and learn a little about it so you can bring questions to the table once you meet up with the doctor.

It's a test used to check for cystic fibrosis. I don't know the details of how it's done, but a quick Internet search would probably give the answer. Good luck!
