So, i read the idea of taking photos of our little ones with a sign that says thank you to use as a thank you card.... i took the photo, but now i'm at a loss! do i just put it in with the thank you card? do i use it as the thank you card, as a postcard (wouldn't it get damaged in the mail?) or make a card out of it online?

have any of you done this? how did it work out for you?

thanks,
darci

I mainly use Snapfish, they have photo notecards as well as the regular photo cards. I think kodak, shutterfly, ofoto and snapfish all have basically the same things with different designs. My whole family uses Snapfish so that's why I go with them.

Darci--

I always do this for my kids thank you cards. Go to the website www.shutterfly.com, and create your own card. You can made a variety of different cards. I have always just done the 4x6 photo cards with a thank you message that way I didn't have to write a personal note on each card.

Good luck

D.,

I have done it one of 2 ways:
1) You can print them on special note cards you get from Wal-Mart, Staples, etc. (I use Wal-Mart, it's cheaper and the same thing). All you do it print the picture on the sheet and fold it like they tell you, then you can write your note inside.
2) PostIt now has photo sheets, you can pick up regular Thank You note cards and add the picture on a PostIt inside. This way whoever you are sending it to can "Post" your daughter's picture on their desk, refrigerator, etc.
Be creative and enjoy.

Hugs,
T.

I found a wonderful lady online that makes AMAZING invitations and thank you's. I've used her for all my son's milestones and she's incredible! You can find her at www.pictureitcards.com.
Her prices are extremely reasonable and sometimes even cheaper than those big name stores. Good luck!

You wouldn't want to just put your photo of your child in the mail, because yes, it could get damaged, but it is also not safe for your child's photo to be out there with his/her return address on it! If you don't want to create a photo card online, you can go to any drugstore, (CVS, Walgreens, etc), and buy photo card inserts. They're cards that have a window on the front for you to slip in a photo of your choice and then write your thank-you inside.

I brought a digital photo to CVS and made a "picture card" from it. They gave me envelopes for free with the purchase of the cards. It looks like the holiday cards - an envelope shaped one-sided card. You can sign it right on the photo with a gel pen, and they look very cool. Any store with a photo kiosk should be able to d it for you. Great idea!

I usually use walgreens.com. I like them, because I don't have to wait for shipment, and can just pick them up when it's ready. It's usually ready within a couple of hours of ordering it.

Hi! I used to do something similar with my daughter and I wrote the thank you on the back of the picture (i used to take a picture of her with the gift from that person) and I wrote it as if my daughter was writing it, and people loved that.

Shutterfly.com, and or photoworks.com. All you have to do is upload the photo to their website and design your card. I use shutterfly ALL THE TIME. PM me if you need help with it, I'd be happy to help!!

SHUTTERFLY.COM is the best answer I can give you! You upload the picture to the website and use the actual picture as the front cover of the card. I've used them so many times already and I'm always extremely happy with the results. But I never thought of taking a picture holding a thank you sign. Thank you for the suggestion. That will be my next project. Also check out the photo books, especially if you have someone that's hard to shop for like my mother in law!
