HELP!! What Website Prints Digital Photos the Best?

I am guilty of snapping photos on my digital camera but never get the pics developed. I told myself that when my baby girl was born, I would find the best online site and upload all my pics and get them developed. Which site has the best quality, price and reliability on photos and possibly delivers them to my home (this is optional, I can run out and get them)? I will probably get most pics developed on 4 x 6's. I've seen advertisements at Walmart but have no clue. Please help, I don't want to have all baby girls pics on my laptop!!!

I recommend www.winkflash.com You get the prints for 12 cents and shipping for 99 cents. It is the cheapest around. I've researched it!

We use Snapfish. As far as I know they're all pretty equivalent. Friends of mine use York Photo (a little cheaper), Shutterfly, or Kodak. They all use either Kodak or Fuji paper. Snapfish delivers or will print to your local Walgreens, but then you pay the Walgreens price, which is more than the Snapfish price.

If you want to get NICE pictures (like 8x10s for gifts) I suggest sending them to www.myphotopipe.com. They have lots of really great options and do a really prfessional job. A little more expensive, but worth it for the pics you're going to put on your wall vs. in an album.

Hi - I've used snapfish & thought it was good. I'm usually too impatient to wait for the pictures to arrive in the mail, so I use Costco's upload/pickup in store option. Saves me a trip there to order the pics & I can schedule when I want to pick them up - usually within an hour or so.

One thing I'd like to advise EVERYONE on.... my computer's hard drive crashed and we lost EVERYTHING. If you're thinking you have all your pictures online & their safe... think again. PLEASE figure out a backup system for your pictures and other files/emails.
Thankfully I did have a lot backed up, but there's some I'll never get back. Western Digital has a good external hard drive with backup software, of if you're a Mac user, the Mac.com yearly subscription has an online automated backup service that's great. Whatever you do, do it NOW before it's too late!!

I love Snapfish.com.
I load the photos onto my computer and burn my own cd to archive and then I upload them onto their site. They make it really easy to share with friends and family and also to order. You can order from them and they will deliver or you can pick them up at Walgreens all over the country. I even choose pick up at the Walgreens closest to my dad's house in Wisconsin and he can just pick them up and pay for them there. It is the best. I just love it!!!

Hi Sylvia,

All of the sites suggested are all great photo sharing sites. After a lot of research myself I decided to go with smugmug (http://www.smugmug.com). I love it! The main reasons for me:

- The biggest reason for me: Store and retrieve your high-resolution photos, which means if your computer crashes (or God forbid there's a fire or something) you have all of the ORIGINALS stored online. You can even order a backup disk of any of your photos.
- Buy professional prints and them shipped to me (really high quality prints, perfect color on great paper!)
- I love having my own URL; you can even send links to specific pages and/or specific photos in emails to friends/family.
- It is $39.95/year, but they have a referral program where if anyone names you as their referrer you get $10 off your next year's fee, plus I don't think $40 is too extreme for having all of my photos securely saved online (they even do a back up at multiple locations on their end) and my photos are accessible from any computer, any time.

Here's my site if you'd like to check it out: http://hackbarth.smugmug.com. You can use this coupon code for $5 off: OShGVxo4byOBk if you decide to become a smugmugger. =)

Congrats on the N. baby, good luck & happy sharing!

I love Shutterfly. I have ordered from Walgreen's, Snapfish, and Kodak and have found the quality at Shutterfly the best. The mail time is quick, usually three days. I read that now you can also pick them up at target, that's N. though, I haven't ever used it.

It's also really easy to use and there is another feature where you can create a website. We use that for the grandparents and then they order their own pictures. I can send you a referral code for free prints if you want to try it.

Hello Sylvia,

I really like www.winkflash.com I had a ton of pictures developed there and they came out great. The have a flat rate of 99 cents for shipping and usually are running a special in which you get your first order for free! My advice is to try them for yourself, here is the coupon code for 50 free 4x6 prints JW73DF42. Hope this helps!

I second the backup, whether it's to cd, dvd, or an external drive. Photos online are not the same as what you have on your computer. You can order a cd with all your images that WILL be good quality, but if you download the ones on the screen, they will be low resolution.. so don't count on the latter as a backup method.

I have been using Kodak gallery and have my husband pick up at CVS after work. I think the shipping is kind of high.
I sent the same test prints to sam's club, shutterfly and kodak. I felt kodak's turned out the best for color, the red wasn't too red. (I used one touch for better pictures feature from kodak) Sam's club were average, but too red on skin tones. Walgreens usually turn out good.

My friend likes snapfish, they have a good price.

My alternatives are: Walgreens for convenience, and shutterfly for cool photo borders/calendars, etc.
Kodak has recently had two 10 cent sales on 4x6. They all send discounts in the email but I find that most of the time they are not for prints.

If you do scrapbooking, I understand that costco in lake in the hills prints 12x12 digital layouts for $3. It will be on a 12x18 print, you just cut off the excess.

Note: Kodak has nice 4x8 greeting cards that you can put one or several photos on and pick up at CVS within 1-3 days. Just like the holiday photo cards. These also come with envelopes.
Walgreens can print "picture packages" and the price is good. I think it's a 5x7, 4x6's and wallets of the same pose- but I would check the site for specifics.

I am in the process of getting all my photos printed and into albums. I just got 200+ pictures that I'm going through and labeling, from the last kodak sale.
Best of luck!

(Thanks for the great links everyone. Never hurts too look around or try a N. one.)

I use Walmart, you can them done in 1 hour, pick them up in 2 days, or have them sent to your house. Go to Walmart.com, go to photo tab and you have to download a program, then you just upload to their website. It is very easy or I would not do it. LOL
You can also edit your photos too.

Hi Sylvia,

In the past I have used Shutterfly which was good but I then switched to Winkflash when they had a coupon code for free prints. Both mail the pics to you, I can't remember how long it took for Shutterfly but Winkflash they come in a few days. Both qualities were good but I now just do Winkflash because that is where I upload all pics to to keep everything in one place. Winkflash's shipping is 99 cents per order for 4 X 6's and an additional charge if you do bigger sizes.

Hope this helps

I personally really like Yahoo Photos or Snapfish. There are a slew of others but I have found these to be most reliable, best quality and reasonable priced. You could also bring your card to Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kmart, Walmart, etc and print the pictures there as well for usually around same quality and price.

I use Walgreens (which is the same as Snapfish) when I need them in a hurry. I can pick them up in an hour for 19 cents a print.

If I have more time, and for the volume, I use Shutterfly. I use them because 1) I find great coupons for them on the net (search for Shutterfly coupons on google), 2) they are also part of UPROMISE and donate to my child's account, 3) deliver and many times the coupons I find are for free delivery, and the main reason I use them is there awesome selection of picture products. We have created many of the photo books. I find the options better than other sites and we have started using the books more than printing up just pictures.

Hope this helps.

Costco.com is a great place to order prints. Prints are 17 cents each. If you have a membership you can also upload your pictures and pick them up at your nearest Costco. Another option is to save the pictures on any type of storage (cd, jump drive, etc) and bring them into Costco. The cost per print is a little bit cheaper ~14 cents.

We've had excellent luck with Shutterfly. It's easy to share your pictures with people, and they'll make photo books and other things with your pictures as well.

Prints are very reasonably priced, and their customer service is great. We get emails about specials fairly frequently, too. Quality is teriffic, and shipping is very fast.

I LOVE Kodakgallery.com. They are great quality and you can pick them up the next day at your local CVS for only 1.49 or they can ship to your house for a s&h fee. They have really nice products you can make too. For mothers day I made mini photo albums for the grandmas and great grandmas and it only cost about $13 each. LOVE IT!! It's also extremely easy to use.

I've not been very happy with the quality of printing at Walgreens. The color always seems to be off and the paper seems flimsier than digital prints I've gotten elsewhere. Snapfish offers the option of paying an extra 5 cents for thicker photo paper and their color-trueness seems decent. I've also liked Kodak gallery, but after reading these responses, I think I'm going to try winkflash next!

I LOVE shutterfly........they are mailed to your house. The quality is outstanding and you get the pictures the same week you order them. There is a refer a friend program and if you want to send me your e-mail address I can e-mail it to you. You will also get some free prints to use towards your first oder so you can try them out. An added benefit is that if God forbid my computer crashes I have most of my pictures backed up on there web-site. C.
