I take my daughter to see Dr. Roger Knapp in Southlake. He is located at Southlake Blvd. and Shady Oaks. I only see him. If he is unavailable I DO NOT see his partner Dr. Nichols. Dr. Nichols has no concern for a mothers feelings after childbirth. Dr. Knapp was on vacation when my daughter was born so I didn't know any better. He gave us the biggest scare with her health. Dr. Knapp's # is ###-###-####. He is an older man but he is awesome. Hope this helps. I also live in Keller and it takes me only 10-15 minutes to get there. If you would like to know more about him you can go to his website: www.rogerknapp.com

Cooks Children by Tom Thumb is great! I see Dr. Hampton but if she has been out I have seen the other docs there and they are just as good. The staff is really good there and has there stuff togther. I havent had any probs and my daughter is 4 now and thats where we have always gone.

My only reccomendation is NOT to go to the Kid Care Pediatric in Keler!! The doctors are great but the office girls are AWFUL! They never have their stuff together and I now only go to the office in Fossil Ridge--same doctors but better support staff.

there are many great pediatricians in grapevine and southlake. Dr Shori, Dr McCoy, Dr Robert, Dr Benzick or Deitchman. It depends on your priorities. Call around and ask if they give prenatal appointments. If you are taking a childbirth class we give you a list of local pedi's here at the Nestingplace so that you can call around. You want to make sure that you are both on the same page as to breastfeedign, hours, call backs and immunizations to name a few things.

Cooks Children's by Tom Thumb off of 1709. We see Dr. Hampton and she is great and has small children of her own. The staff is awsome, too. Congratulations on your new baby...the first is so special!

Just so you know, most pediatritions schedule short times for expecting mothers to come in and interview them on topics that are important to you such as breastfeeding, co-sleeping, immunization, over-medication, call in times for questions about baby that doesn't require a visit.... It usually is in the mornings for about 10-15 minutes or so. Just call some of the Dr.s you are interested in and ask.

Cook Children's at Rufe Snow and Keller Pkwy (Tom Thumb shopping area)... love it! We've actually seen Drs. Matlock, Yok, and Turk. They have all been great! We really enjoy going there, and they have been more than helpful. The only downside with Matlock is she's there parttime - partners with Yok. Each doc is has a different style. Matlock is more conservative (sometimes leaning more towards the overly cautious side); Yok is a little more laid back about things. You can email me for more info if you like - ____@____.com
I highly recommened their office - and it's in a great location for Keller residents... ten minutes from our house in Heritage.

Oh, on another note - if you are delivering at Baylor, their office does not work there, so you can temporarily sign up as using Dr. Shori, then go in and see one of the others two days after discharge from the hospital. It's not big deal, really.

If you're looking for great childbirth prep classes, please please check out The Nesting Place - the owner is a fabulous lac consultant and former delivery nurse. She is soooo helpful, and has great classes. Check out www.thenestingplace.net Her name is Kay. They also give tours of the hospital - easier to sign up for than the one at the hospital...
