I am looking for a good gentle patient Pediatric Dentist for my Daughter, as a child I had many bad experiences with the dentist and has instilled a fear in me .. I do not want the same for my daughter.. any suggestions

Thank you all for all the input, I actually found a new place that opened in Altoons, the staff is wonderful, and my daughter got through the cleaning while watching a movie on a tv mounted from the ceiling. She was completly comfortable with the dentist that after the cleaning was done , my daughter followed her into her office and started talking her ear off.. lol
Altoona Pediatric Dentist, run by a husband and wife. and wonderful staff and wonderful Doctors.
My youngest daughter injured her teeth at 4 years old. Her pediatric dentist made matters even worse. She was terrified of going to the dentist. I switched dentist 3 years ago to Dr. Douglas Hutchison - downtown Des Moines, he is wonderful with her!
Dr. Hutchison is a family dentist, so we all get to see him. He has a smaller office, and really gets to know his patients!
Dr. Wade is a good one, kind of pricy though. I really like Waukee family dentistry, Dr. Kurtz. They are a family clinic, but excellent with kids and their moms too.
Hi L.! Although he is not a Pediatric Dentist, my daughter, also age 7, has been seeing Larry Long out at Country Club Dental in West Des Moines. I live on the East Side, but it is worth the trip knowing she is comfortable and at ease as I myself am. I have never had any troubles with them and they are very cognizent of my needs (for instance I cannot have cold water put directly on my teeth and they are very aware of this and will spray the water in my mouth for me to warm up and for me to slosh around). Welcome to the Des Moines area, L.. My family and I used to live on the south side where we began seeing Dr. Kearns (at Fleur Family Denistry)as our family dentist. While he is not a pediatric dentist--at least, not to my knowledge--my then 4-year-old LOVED him. They had a Polaroid taken together on her first visit and it still hangs in her room. I use Dr. Stephen Burds with my 7 year old and 4 year old, and I see him myself (being a dentist chicken myself, that says a lot). He is great with the boys, very soft spoken and very thoughtful. Last month my 4 year old knocked his front two teeth out in an accident on a trike. I was a basket case and FAINTED in his office. Not only did he take great care of my son, but he did a wonderful job helping us both get through it. He has a gentle touch and is genuinely interested in the well being of his patients.
I agree with Kimberly W. response about Dr. Douglas Hutchison in downtown DM. My husband has been seeing him his whole life. I started seeing him when I moved to DM. I have seen many kids in his office. He and his staff are wonderful! I highly recommend them!
