I am a mom of two and pregnant with my third. I had my first baby at Saint Joes and loved the hospital. The rooms were great as well as the docs and nurses. My second I had at Parker Hospital and had a really bad experience. I have also had a friend who had a bad experience at Parker. I am inbetween the Parker and Aurora hospitals, what are other experiences at these two hospitals?

What can I do next?

I have heard so many people that have had a bad experience at Parker. I wouldn't go back if it was something serious that concerned you. If it was just the nurse, chances are you will have a different one or can ask that you don't have that one again.
This may not be an option for ob practice, but I delivered at Sky Ridge and LOVED it. Their lactation support was awesome as well if you are needing that. I ended up being there for a week with my induction being really slow, then ending up having a c-section.

This was 10 years ago, but my twins were born at the Aurora South hospital (Mississippi and Potomac). I had to deliver in an OR because of posible complications, but I thought the labor room was nice and the nurses were great. My girls were then in the NICU there for 5 weeks, so I spent a lot of time at the hospital.

I know you said you are in between Parker and Aurora but have you thought of Rose? It is on the east side of town, I had two of my kids there and loved it both times, excellent care! Good luck!

I've never been to Parker hospital, but have never heard anything good about it.
I have delivered 3 of my children at Aurora South and they have been wonderful. Two of those three were deliveries with complications and I had to go to the ICU both times. They literally saved my life with the 3rd baby. I would highly recommend Aurora South.

I am a birth doula, so I have a lot of experience at many hospitals. It all depends on the kind of birth you want. Are you going natural, medicated or a cesarean? My answer would vary depending on your answer. I wanted a natural birth and went to Center for Midwifery at University (225 & Colfax) and love when I have a client who id going there.

I would be happy to talk to you more about what you want from your birth and make a better suggestion based on that. I also offer free, no obligation interviews. Doulas make birth better!

I had my first at St. Joes and had a pretty positive experience. I am expecting my 2nd in March and plan to deliver at Parker. You are the first person I have heard that has had a bad experience there. I think a lot of it has to do with the doctor you choose. I am on my 3rd doctor's practice and finally have found the absolute best practice ever. I know a ton of people that have had a horrible experience with ESPRIT Woman's Care. I am curious as too what made your experience at Parker so bad, but if you are not willing to go back I have heard great things about the new University Hospital off 225 and Colfax.

A friend of mine had her baby at the new University Hospital in Aurora. The rooms are really nice and the nurses were great. Everything I have heard about Aurora South isn't good. I know, from personal experience, the emergency room and the waiting area are filthy. The security at University is great too. There are alarms on the doors so that they only ones that can take the baby off the delivery floor are the parents and anyone coming in to visit has to check in with the desk before entering.

Good luck with your new arrival.

I also had a wonderful experience at Parker, and I would go back for future pregnancies. I really like my OB, and she works in Parker hospital as well as delivers there. What happened with you Parker experience?

Congrats! We are pregnant with our third and plan to deliver at Aurora. We had our first at St. Joes and had a wonderful experience. Our second was a great experience, mostly because our doctor was great. His office is right next to the hospital so he obviously has a good relationship with the hospital. While not overly impressed with the admin side, we had a great experience (c-section) and hope to have another with this baby. Good luck. It comes down to feeling good about your decision and not apologizing or regretting it.

Sorry I don't have a personal experience with either of these two hospitals regarding labor and delivery. I have actually heard more bad stories about the Aurora hospitals than Parker. What specifically was it with Parker that caused the breakdown, if you can share? My husband had surgery there and all in all it was a good experience.

I delivered once at Porter and twice at Swedish. The first time at Swedish was bad due to the nursing staff during labor and the epidural. Thankfully the second time I had a better nurse and I voiced my concerns based on the epidural and it all went better. I wasn't interested in changing hospitals because I love my OB/GYN and Swedish is the only hospital she attends to. Just thought I would add that in since I did have a bad experience initally but did go back.

Best wishes.

Stick with St. Joes. It's the best hospital around for labor and delivery. Aurora hospital rooms are small and uncomfortable. I haven't ever been to a hospital in Parker but if you had a bad experience I wouldn't go back.

I had my daughter, now 3, at Parker Adventist & had a wonderful experience. My sister-in-law had both of her boys at Aurora South and also had a great experience both times. I think it comes down to what you want from your birth experience.

Best of Luck to you!

Hi there,
I delivered both of my kids at Aurora South and both experiences were great. The nurses were wonderful. Both of my children had complications, one due to preeclampsia and the other had the cord wrapped around her neck, had to do emergency c-sectn. Anyhow, both scenarios turned out for the best and the nurses were very kind and took great care of us.
Good luck to you!!

Hi A.,

I have a 4 month baby girl and I had her in Aurora at the new University Hosiptal. I had a wonderful experience and my nurses and doctors were amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better hospital. I was 13 days late with my daughter and I know other hospitals would have just done a C-Section, but I was induced instead and had a wonderful labor. I was in contraol of everything going on and the nurses and doctors made me feel completly at ease. I was very happy with choosing University Hospital in fact it is anywhere from a 30-45 minute drive for us with traffic becasue we live in broomfield. I hope this helped and best of luck.
