Seeking Opinion on Delivery at University Community Hospital

Has any one delivered at University Community Hospital? My OBGYN is currently delivers at University Community Hopspital. Is the care good?? Which one would you prefer? University or St Josephs Womens Hospital?

What can I do next?

I have to agree with everything stated in the other responses. UCH was wonderful to me for both my children. Couldn't have asked for more efficient and kind care. I have yet to hear of a less than wonderful experience with The Women's Center at UCH.

I delivered both of my children at UCH. Had a wonderful experience with both! Was taken very good care of in both the delivery room & hospital room. The nurses were extraordinary & I had total confidence in them. I highly recommend the Women's Center at UCH for delivery. :)

i had all three of my boys at UCH, i initially preferred that hospital because my friend is a labor/delivery nurse there. UCH is a wonderful hospital and the staff is wonderful. I would never hesitate recommending UCH Womens to anyone! Good Luck!

I had a great experience and would deliver there again. Theu nurses and staff were wonderful. Contrary to what I think of the main hospital, UCH Women's Center was beyond my expectations!

I had my first child at St Joes and my second child - 2 yrs later - at UCH - I had a good experience with both - but would prefer UCH if I ever have any more children. I think the food was better at UCH too. Staff was nicer - I had a repeat C Section at UCH.

I also delivered both of my children at UCH. I had a wonderful experience. Both of my boys were delivered by c-section and the nurses were excellent. They check on you all the time and are there when you need them. Good Luck with everything.

I had a repeat section at UCH 4 years ago this month - I couldn't have been more full of a praise for a hospital and its staff. I had my other child in a different hospital/state - and after that experience, I was pleasantly surprised at how positive a scheduled c-section birth could be from the moment we got there to the moment we left. The nurses made all the difference to me. They were fantastic. It was busy there when I delivered and there was no room for me on the Mother/Baby floor - so I stayed on the GYN floor - not that it matters. They treated both my daughter and me as good as gold.

My mom is a LDR nurse (over 30 years) from up north and SHE was even impressed with the care I received on the GYN floor.

I don't plan on more babies ... but I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. Good luck to you.

I delivered my daughter at UCH March 2005 and will have my 2nd one there in 6-8 weeks. The hospital is wonderful – the delivery and recovery rooms are huge, bright and comfortable, and the nursing staff is phenomenal, and so accommodating and attentive. Not sure if St Joes does this, but when they were moving my daughter and me to the recovery room, as we exited the delivery room and wheeled to the elevator, a lullaby was played in the hallways to “celebrate” a new birth. It was really very touching. I have nothing but praise and positive feedback for UCH Women’s Center, and I'm sure you would too.
