Older Sitter and Appropriate Meal?

A friend of a co-worker is going to be babysitting my 1-year old for the evening. The sitter is an older woman (over 50). I would like to make sure she is comfortable while we are out. I need advice on what I can do for dinner for her. If the sitter was a teenager or a person in her/his 20's or 30's I would simply have a pizza available. But since she is a mature woman, I feel that maybe something else would be more appropriate. I've already asked my co-worker if this woman likes a particular type of food, etc, but I was simply told that "anything would be fine". Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I'm only in my 20's and I don't eat pizza. I would still have something of that sort available, but if she happens to be a picky eater like myself, I always take a small snack with me in case the family doesn't have something I will like, so I imagine she would too.

I wouldn't worry to much about it most older women bring their own food. So just have some basic foods on hand and leave it at that.

If you are ever looking for another babysitter email me, I live in Oxford and am looking to babysit on occasion.

I would go with something simple and be prepared with a backup. I'd toss something like pot roast into the crock pot (makes the house smell yummy) and I'd have some fried chicken or something else in the frige. Give her some choices. I'm sure she will find something she likes.

I go through this often when my mom babysits for my kids. She is 61. I usually get one of the ready baked chickens from the deli in the local grocery and a bag of salad. She is always happy with that. Quick and easy!

I am not over 50 but I once babysat two very picky kids and the mom had cooked a lasagna and green beans etc. I agree that pizza should be fine, but you can always prepare a small meal of this sort (even a frozen one) and offer it. I'm sure she will be grateful for whatever you offer. I know I would be!!
