Obgyn in San Marcos Texas

I will also recommend Caring Center for Women. We just moved to SAn Marcos from California, and 2 weeks after we moved I found myself pregnant with our 3rd baby. I was going to health department clinic at first and then transferred over to Caring Center and I like them. I have not met Dr. Jacobson yet, but have met the 2 female doctors and they are nice. I am high risk and they are doing all they can right now to keep baby healthy in there since I am not due til Dec/Jan.

Caring Center for Women is located in the professional building next to Central Texas Medical Center on Wonder World Drive (what medical profession isn't on Wonder World Drive?!). The Caring Center for Women has three obgyns: two female and one male. During your pregnancy you will see all three at various times. As with most practices, I think, they want you to get know all three doctors in case your particular OB is not available when you deliver. I didn't like this idea at first, but it makes sense. All three are professional and knowledgeable. Dr. B. Reid delivered my son through emergency c-section at 25 weeks gestation (so, um, obviously I had problems) and she was absolutely wonderful...using a calming, soothing voice, explaining what would be going on while everyone else is rushing around in an OR. If you have questions, you receive a call back in a prompt amount of time (usually from one of the nurse practioners...also very kind). As a first time mom, I, of course, had lots of questions, so I called frequentely. Of course everyone's experience is different and as I'm sure you've learned while merely looking for gynecologists for your annual appointments, you just have to try one. Congratulations!

Hi, A.!! Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I had my first baby on July 31, 2007 and I live in San Marcos. My doctor was Ray Jacobson. He has an office next door to the hospital and works with a few other doctors, all of whom are wonderful. The office tends to be crowded at times, but his staff is very nice, as are the doctors and nurses. As soon as my baby boy was delivered, Dr. Jacobson reassured me that all was well and let me hold him immediately. At one point the nurse wanted to put him under the warmer and Dr. Jacobson told her he needed to spend time with his mommy! He genuinely cares and you can tell. I very highly recommend him to anyone! I just had my second, a little girl, in june and delivered at Central Texas Medical in San marcos. My dr. is Dr. Kunda, who is so sweet and nice. The office where he practices is so awsome and the techs and nurse practitioner, CHristina, is FANTASTIC! I love her. The technology they have in the office is great, you get a 3d sonogram almost everytime you go in. This is how they measure your baby there. They don't do the whole measure the belly with a tap measure thing....that's what they did when I had my first in san antonio. The 3d is more accurate in determining size and if there are any defects...they can see everything with those things! I only had 2 sonograms when I was prego with my son. If you are interested the office number is ###-###-####. Any of the dr.'s in the office would be great....with the regular appt.'s you will just be seeing the nurses and sono tech's anyway; unless you request to see the dr. Since this is your first you may have a lot of questions...but the women there are just as knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have and to reassure you. I just love the nurses at the hospital where these drs. deliver also. I had the absol. best birthing experience ever....they let you do it your way and are very helpful with anything you need and answer all questions about breastfeeding and the baby, as well as any concerns about your body you may have. I highly reccommend (sp.?) it!! My dr. ended up being out of town when I went into labor, so I was actually delivered by another, her name is Beth Reid and I LOVED her! Her number is ###-###-####. She is so great and so calm! They can give you directions on how to get there....but they are both located off of wonder world drive....and are super easy to get to! Dr. Jacobson with The Caring Center for Women is the absolute best! He was my doctor with 3 of my 4 pregnancies but only delivered one. When my daughter was born she wasn't breathing because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck. The OB nurse told my husband that of all the doctors, he is the best to handle that situation--he was so calm and just did his job. At the time I had no idea what was even going on (my husband figured it out, though).

That was before Drs. Irwin and Reid joined him, but if he has included them in his practice then I'm sure they're wonderful, as well.
