resale shops is a great place to get them at a cheaper price. I have also seen some sold on "garage sale" sites on facebook.

At the North Face outlet in Berkeley, or at consignment shops/ebay.

It's hit or miss, but you can sometimes find them at TJ Maxx. I've also purchased them at Macy's during Friends & Family.

Sales at sporting goods stores - sales or end of season.

i buy the NF denali at 6pm.com (esp when running a deeper sale), or at rei.com when they have a code for discount on top of the sale.

If you go on wish.com it is a website that buys things from stores and sells them for cheaper. I got a profector for my daughter for $30 regular price was $180.

Outlets and on-line.

I've bought quite a few on eBay - both new and slightly used for excellent prices. Also, if you have NF outlet near you, you could get very lucky.

Got one at a Garage Sale for $3, it was nice too! Added it to my ski outfits after washing it a couple of times...looks nice!

I got my daughter one a few years ago for Christmas and the best price was on Cyber Monday from a random website...but it saved $20!
