Needing Help with Removing Bad Dog Urine Stains/smells

I think my dog is ill. She left a huge puddle in my daughter's room yesterday that is very foul smelling. I found a company in Minneapolis that actually pulls back your carpet, treats/replaces the pad as well as the floor tack, cleans the carpet all the way through, stretches your carpet back into place. This seems like the most logical coarse of action, but I don't know how to find someone locally who does that? Does anyone else know? I have tried the spongy stuff from Joy Carpet Cleaners as well as Sol-U-Mel and the room still smells horrible. Thanks for any help you can offer!

If you want something natural you can use 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water. The vinegar helps neutralize the pet odor.

I have tried everything out there and then a friend told me about Nature's Miracle. It is the ONLY thing I have ever used that has worked. You can get it at Petsmart.

Nature's Miracle is the best!! YOu will probably have to really soak the spot in it, but it does wonders for urine smells/stains.

It also works well for those potty training accidents. I've even used it on our mattress and there was NO smell at all.

Nature's Miracle usually works great for us, but, recently even that wouldn't get a stain out. I borrowed a friend's carpet shampooer, and it worked great. Good luck!

My dog had an upset stomach and went diahhrea (sorry, I know that's crass) on my wool rug and it smelled terrible. Not only did I need to get the smell out, but I had to have something you could use on wool rugs. The product that was suggested to me is called Capture. They sell it I think now at Home Depot, but I had to get it several months ago at the Capel Rug Store in Dallas. It's the Capture pump spray for pet stains. It is by far the best thing I've used and there is absolutely no trace of the smell anymore. I've used Resolve and Nature's Miracle before on other carpet pet stains and nothing works as well as the Capture. I recommended to my neighbor who's dog keeps throwing up on their carpet. She thought it was great.

The only way to truly get it out is like you said - treat the top of the carpet as well as underneath the carpet, replacing the carpet pad and even treating the concrete underneath. Otherwise, it is never really out and the same dog or other's will definitely smell it and probably go there again. Chem-Dry does this - it's their P.U.R.T. system (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) They can do the treatment without the carpet , pad and all that, but they won't "guarantee" anything unless you do the whole deal. Make sure you tell them that's what you want when you call. It's pretty pricey.

You have to call this guy. It is called Professional carpet systems and his name is Brett Hallerman-###-###-####. I had a dog that was on medication that caused her to drink a lot of water and thus she couldn't hold it as long. I went out of town and I guess my pet sitter didn't get here often enough and we came home to 3 great big puddles in our master bedroom. It smelled so bad that we couldn't sleep in that room. Brett came out and did an enzyme flush that flushes it all the way past the pad and then has a super suction machine that sucks it all back out. You can not smell anything in our room anymore. It takes a few days to dry out and then you will be amazed. He was so nice. It left a few big rings on my carpet after it dried and he came back out with no charge and recleaned it and they came out. It saved our carpet and I will keep his card close by from now on. We have 2 big dogs!!
