I own a professional carpet cleaning in Arlington. I'm not sure how badly "stained" your carpet is. But when you have your carpets cleaned (professional), using the right system (truck mount hot water extraction), and the carpets look clean when finished but the spot re-appears within a few days. It's a common occcurance called wicking. The soil in the pad is coming to the surface as the carpet dries. The pro should know how to handle this in order to prevent this from coming back, and the pro should come back within a reasonable amount of time to fix this problem, without a charge. It's not the cleaners fault, however it does happen regularly. But, if your carpet is badly soiled,and ready to be replaced I'd go to Carpet One located in Main St. in Arlington - they are wonderful people and ask for Scott Johnson and tell him C. referred you, their number is ###-###-####. He's wonderful! They get the buying power of the large Carpet One franchise, but have the small business feel. A friend of mine just used them, and I thought it was very reasonable. You have to use Truck mount hot water extraction when cleaning in order to maintain your warranty, and usually you have to have it cleaned within 12-18 months.

Beltline Carpets has awesome prices, cant be beat in the metroplex. Right in Irving, past the GP border on Beltline.

Call Big Bob's in Duncanville. They are located off of Hwy. 67. They do a lot of work for our women's business group & our church so I'd trust them. If it's only one room, they may have some cheaper, smaller pieces.

For wood floors, you can't beat Master's Flooring. http://mastersflooring.com. Two locations, Keller and Ft. Worth. They will travel too. They have a raw wood red oak flooring product that has a 1/2" raw veneer on top of the subfloor (prefinshed wood floors have a 1/8" veneer on laminated subfloor) so you can install it on slab yet finish on site with your choice of texture (smooth, hand scraped, distresses, etc) and stain. Sealed on site with minimum of three layers and is much more durable than any pre-finshed real wood product with only an 1/8" veneer. Cost is equal to the better made pre-finished.
