Has anyone had carpet installed by Empire? Wondering if you are satisfied with the quality, service and installation. TIA!

I do know someone who had both carpet & either hardwood or laminate installed by them maybe 5 years ago & was/is very happy. When I was in the market for flooring more recently, though, they were WAY more expensive than all of the other places I worked with for estimates. We ended up using Lowe's & were very happy with the whole process.

My parent's used them. (they needed new carpet immediately) While they were satisfied with service, it was VERY expensive. Unless you are in a bind and need the carpet asap, it's cheaper to use just about anyone else.

I had a customer who used them for wood flooring and loved the whole experience - and the floors were certainly beautiful. We had them out to estimate our house after a plumbing emergency. I had my heart set on Berber carpeting - and had O. picked out at Home Depot that I loved. I had Empire come out to compare - after a lengthy measure, I didn't care for any of his samples - they kind of looked like commercial carpeting to me, and they were very expensive. We did not book the job that night - and over the course of the next two weeks it basically became a reverse auction. He called every other day or so after "talking to his manager" and was "authorized" to offer us this "deal". Over the course of his calling me - he reduced the total price by over $1,000! I kept telling him that I really really did not like the variegated carpet samples that he had - and unless he could get his hands on something solid color like this other O. that I was so in love with that no price would have been acceptable. So ....if you find something with them that you love - my advice would be to play the "let's think about it" card and see if your salesman starts the "reverse auction" and starts lowering the price. Good luck!

Check their prices for carpets + installation. When we needed new carpet, we called them and had them come out to give an estimate. It was not competitive, so we ended up using a different national company, and they were great.

Thanks too, I have always seen their catchy commercials; now they are airing the O. "Buy 2 rooms and get the all other rooms carpeted free." Thought maybe they jacked up the installation fee to make their $. THis is helpful to know.

I had them come out and give me quotes for a carpet job on a foreclosed home I bought. They were WAY overpriced. We got much better carpet for a much lower price from Home Depot. Also, don't even entertain the thought of buying blinds from them. They quoted me almost two thousand bucks to put blinds up in all my windows. Cheap venetian blinds. When I went blind shopping at home depot I got pretty faux wood blinds for the whole house, including the sliding glass back door and a custom cut blind for the odd shaped kitchen window for $930. Including installation. Home depot wanted to charge me extra to shorten each blind but I saved $23 bucks a window to do it myself.

Also, when I called the sales guy from empire to cancel the order I had placed with him, since I jumped the gun feeling pressured by time constraints, it was like trying to undo a deal with the devil. Miserable experience.

They offered their wares at outrageous prices so they could negotiate down. After I called to cancel my order they knocked $200 off the price but I didn't want the carpet I picked out anymore and wanted to cancel all together. They then pushed to show me other carpets and I said fine. I told them the type of carpet I picked out at home depot and told them if they could match the price and the install date they could have my business. The guy showed up with a car full of samples. They didn't have anything like the carpet I picked out and all their "best" carpets, which weren't as good as what I was looking for, were so outrageously priced I actually laughed when I saw them.
