My daughter is turning 15 and every idea I have is stupid. Over the years we have done just about everything for her birthday from slumber parties to beach parties. We live in the League City area and need some fresh ideas. Please help!

What can I do next?

We have attended a couple of parties at Main Event and it seems like a great place for the kids and adults for that matter....

We have had the traditional sleep over's - My daughter is 16 and the last several years we have had co ed parties. The guys must leave by 11:30pm and we set up volleyball nets and played all kinds of games that I found on line. They had a blast...
We had a water baloon fight, had to find the cherry in the bottom of the bowl of whipped cream without using their hands, moved a lifesaver from toothpick to toothpick while holding the toothpick in their mouths and could not use their hands. Moved an orange down the line of each team using their necks. Lots of fun, we and a relay Bat race. They got messy but it was fun. One of the parties that my daughter attended was a "survivor" themed party and there was another reality show, I can't remember the name of it but the parents had purchased prizes... for the teams or individual that one. my daughter won tickets to the skating rink.. etc.

Another fun idea that she attended another party was a scavenger hunt. The parents knew just about everyone in their neighborhood and they had limits on how far they could go but it was awesome.

Remember everything that we do is "dumb" or stupid but when I started "thinking" like them it was easier. They will do it you have to coearse them a little but once they get started it is a blast. Also look on line for GAMES for TEENAGERS there are lots out there.

Good LUCK!!!

would she be interested in a 'coming out' party? Kind of like a quincenara? What ideas do your 15 and 16 year olds have? At that age I just liked having a sleep over with movies and pizza

What does she like to do for fun? Incorporate that into the party. For example, last year I was hired to teach the dance from High School Musical to a group of girls at a birthday party. The birthday girl loved to dance and was a big fan of HSM and the party was a hit! I love teaching dance (I'm a Jazzercise instructor) and could bring some really fun choreography with new cool music to your house or a local community center room, etc. if you are interested. Just an idea but best to start with what she likes to do for fun, Mom! If I were 15 again, I would have a dance party!
Good luck!

I love Monica's suggestion of a hotel stay in Galveston, my niece did this and loved it. The girls also went to the Peanut Butter Warehouse on the Strand and rented segways for an hour of unusual transportation and fun.

How about upgrading her sleepover??

Rent a room for the night at an upscale hotel in Downtown or better yet, in Galveston. Allow her to invite a reasonable amount of guests, according to you. Let them all go and eat at a fancy restaurant, they must dress appropriate. Then buy all the junk food they need, take all the music and let them be girls.

As an added bonus for mom, I would personally rent all the awesome 80's movies to watch. They won't be watching it anyhow, they will be too busy having fun!

Good luck!!!
