My husband and I are seeking a destination spend some time alone before Baby Boy #2 is born.

Here is our criteria:
-It must be either within Michigan or no more than three hours by car outside of Michigan.
-It must be more geared to adults than kids.
-There must be something else to do besides stay inside the room and --ehem- relax.

Please be very speciffic. Thank you SO MUCH!

So What Happened?

We decided to "BabyMoon" at Castle in the Country, which is near Saugatuck in Allegan, MI. We can't wait to get away. Thanks for all the suggestions.

My husband and I are going ot Stratford for the weekend in September (I wish we could go fro longer to explore). The shakespeare festival is going on so we will be seeing a play. There are a lot of lovely hotels and B&B's and the prices appear reasonable. It's 3 hours from here and is definitely and adult thing. Check out the StratfordFestival online - it may be something you can do.

Good luck and enjoy

I would recommend a trip up north - go to Mackinac Island and stay at the Grand or another nice hotel there - or Petoskey/Harbor Springs/Charlevoix. Lots to do - shop, beach, eat, sightsee. Not sure if you can still ride a bike at this stage, but that is always fun to do on the island - or you could take a carriage or ride a horse - very flat all the way around.

NIAGRA FALLS!!! ...step by step slowly we turn... you, know...the old 3 stooges gag...maybe you're too young.

Anyway...when our children, now aged 21 - 30 were young we would get away every year to Niagra Falls. See the touristy stuff, eat out, stay in, see the falls/gardens. RELAX, RELAX, RELAX...

TORONTO/CHICAGO...for grown up go out on the town fun. 4 hrs from Detroit. Night clubs, nice restaurants, theatre, street musicians and artists...

WINDSOR...foreign country, beautiful views of Detroit, night clubs, casino(?), Live entertainment, restaurants

STRATFORD...lovely shops, B&B's, all the plays you care to see, restaurants, lovely walking around.

Congratulations on baby number 2...still managable alone. Baby 3 takes it to "a whole...nuther level" :-)

Hi!

We just got back from a fun-filled weekend in CHICAGO! The drive is short and there is countless things to do once you're there...beach, shopping, theater, restaurants, boat tours, museums...

We also stopped in St. Joseph, Mi on our way home....what a beautiful area right on Lake Michigan. We swam, had dinner and then continued home. It broke up the drive home and was super fun!

Congrats on baby #2!
