I believe I may be pregnant. I'm about 3 weeks late, & I have an appointment set for early next week to confirm. If I am, I need a cute way or maybe rather an appropriate way to tell my boss & coworkers. We work in a very relaxed atmosphere so I'm not worried about anybody being upset. Any ideas???
Have a friend set an approproate date for a baby shower -- say in Feb-- and send boss and co-workers invitations now!
Some like to tell right away, others like to wait till the first trimester is over as the chance of miscarriage goes down. I did both - I told a couple of friends at work that could keep a secret about it right away cause I was gonna burst if I couldn't talk about it to SOMEONE! Then I made it official to the office after the three month mark. I just spread the word gradually, but maybe it would be fun if you had a "party" for yourself - congratulations on your new baby card, cupcakes, etc - and treated the office to it all. Have fun!
i would wait to tell work (boss and co-workers -- but boss first) until I was 3 months along. It's just better to do that. many human resource specialists/career advisers suggest this. I know you're excited about it, but I would advise to wait until you're 3 months along.
You could send out a note asking your boss for 3 months vacation from your due date. And, ask your coworkers to cover for you during that time. Congrats!
