they're probably actually making their way OUT of your house, having snuggled happily into your walls, nooks and crannies for the winter. they'll be gone soon, as they prefer to be outside in the summer, eating all your tomato and squash plants. then you'll get inundated again in the fall.
so far no eradication methods. they are utterly impervious to insecticides. and our early spring indicates that they will be in biblical proportions this year.
we have a dedicated dustbuster that is used only for stinkers. (once used thus, they're useless to clean with again, obviously.) i put a cotton ball with a few drops of peppermint essential oil on it to help counteract the smell, but of course nothing really combats stinkbug smell. but it means i don't ever have to touch them, and i'm not flushing endlessly.
you can also get humane bug trappers online for $30 or $40.
i used to think mosquitoes and gnats were our worst Bug Overlords......

A friend told me to get a paper towel tube, zip loc bag and rubbing alcohol and a rubber band. Put alcohol in bag, rubber band it to the tube and now you can use the tube to scoop of the little buggers. They will go into the alcohol and die and then you can collect several and then zip them shut and throw them away. Happy collecting!

I just heard about the bugzooka specifically for stink bugs in the house. Apparently it works great!

I have been zipping them up in a Ziploc and throwing them out with the trash.

Per our exterminator, there is really nothing you can do to get rid of these little buggers but he said the good news is that they are really harmless (they don't bite or destroy anything). Some houses get them worse than other depending on the direction they are facing. they are now developing a new pest to get rid of the stink bugs, but who knows if this wasp thing is even worse.

Well, if you figure that out--you will be an instant millionaire!
Here's what I do outside, but you could do inside too: Get a milk jug & fill halfway with water. Use a plastic spoon to flick them in. They're stupid so they don't resist in the least. As soon as they hit the water, they're done. They don't even try to crawl out.
I fear the mother-lode nest might be in my attic! LOL
