My Mood
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, thought I would share just to see!
I would say that since my daughter was born (shes 2.5), I have felt minorly depressed some days, and do not feel rested when I sleep, no matter how many hours I get. The depressed feeling, from what I can gather, definitely seems like an imbalance since there have been no traumatic events in my life to cause it. I have started researching a little about thyroid problems, vitamin deficiencies and the like to see if I can figure anything out.
Today I have felt better than I have in years, and can't figure out what caused that, I haven't changed a thing! Anybody else experience anything like this? Share please :-)

Hi K.! I too have this problem. I am taking "happy pills" but I don't even know if they work. My son is 2 yrs old and ever since I have had him, I have had the same problem. I am now working from home with Internet CEO Moms and I can tell you I haven't had such rollercoaster moods. My friends aren't the most reliable so it's not like I have great support. When I did started Internet CEO Moms, I can tell you that I have made some life long friends that I can talk to about anything. I hope this helps :-)

My issues were hormonal...I know now without a doubt. I just can't get an MD to hear me.....I went to my pediatricians doctor, Dr. Chalmers at Chalmers Wellness, and he figured it out!! I am so grateful for the help so I can be present in my children's lives instead of just trying to make it each day. Listen to your gut and if you aren't feeling 'better' keep trying....you are worth it and your family deserves the best of you.

Keep a journal of what you are eating. EVERYTHING!! Then list your energy level and moods the next day. When my children were small, I never had enough energy, but I was also plagued with low blood sugar. Avoiding carbs and sugar definitely helped me. After my children were grown, and I started through the change, I felt like I had brain fog. I was treated for depression--supposedly typical for change of life. But after several years and an added 50 pounds due to the anti-depressants, I figured out I am gluten intolerant. I am off ALL meds, I eat carefully and feel great. Not saying any of these are your problems, but my daddy always said, "You are what you eat." So study what you are eating and figure out if something is affecting you. You should definitely have a thyroid test, too, to rule that out as well. Good luck.

Hello K.,
I hope you get some relief soon. I can almost bet on the following: You're not getting enough Vitamin D, vitamin B12 and magnesium. 75-97% of the population is Vitamin D deficient. if you get any bloodwork done, have them check your vit. D and vit. B12 levels. I've been deficient for a couple of years now and I got an Rx for a weekly vit. D that has 50,000 IU. Let me tell you.........wow!!! what a difference!!! I've also been taking vit. B12 and my energy level has increased tremendously. for the magnesium...that one is a bit trickier for people to increase because it can send you running to the bathroom depending on the amount your body tolerates. However, I've learned about 'magnesium oil'. you can put it on your skin/fee/ make a bath, etc... and to GI side-effects. I just found it at swansonvitamins.com
here is the link: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU481/ItemDetail
and it's on sale! I liked it so much that I've just ordered several for xmas presents! and, no, I'm not the one selling it...I'm just excited to find it at a reasonable price....
if you want to read a bit about magnesium oil, check this out:

I had heard about the magnesium oil from a doctor before I found that e-zine article.
Good luck and keep looking until you find the right answer for you. I've been seeing a nutritionist for a few months and have discovered several deficiencies which were creating the perfect storm inside my body. keep looking, because there is no silver bullet and it may be a combination of the right foods/supplements/meds for YOU.

I have experienced the same at times. My daughter is now 28 months. I have recently figured out a change in my diet has helped a lot. Before my daughter was born, I was better about my diet but had found I was either eating what she left on her plate or I was trying to get something fast for me so I could spend more time with her. I was not paying as much attention to my nutritional needs as I was hers. I have started taking 500 mg of vitamin C with each meal, increased my good fats, drink a glass of wine with dinner, and reduced my consumption of false foods... chemical based (i.e. sodas, fast food, convenient foods). It has helped both with my mood and with sleep.
I hope you feel better! It's hard at times, but how fun are these little ones!!!!

I have a friend who has had some of the same issues. She has been using the Luminex product by Melaleuca to help with her mood swings. Luminex uses a patented formula of natural ingredients including St. John's wort to help your body regulate naturally and gently. If you are interested, let me know. Thanks

You are on the right track with vitamin nutrition, so it seems, for one of the testimonies I hear often is that they are no longer in depression when taking Vemma Liquid Nutrition. I would have never associated depression with nutrition, but there must be something to it. I am very impressed you thought of that right away. On a side note, my thyroid dosage has been reduced on this as my body balances. That us just one of the seven health issues that is no longer even thought of now, except in thanksgiving for an answer to prayers. Depression was not one of them, but I have heard it helped too many people with depression not to believe that. You can read about it if you want. http://annnoble.vemma.com

you may be having some mild post partum depression. I would talk to your doctor about this and maybe go to the health food store to find out about some natural things you can do.
