Hi N.,

My best advise to you is to remember your man is only going to get really excited about what's going to happen "that night!". As far as spending a lot of money on dinners and romance... that would mostly be for your behalf. I have so much fun planning a great sex night that I'm worked up all day in anticipation myself! When I was younger I planned the dinner nights but it's always the bedroom nights that go down in history... never forgotten and always talked about :o)

Once I sent my panties in his lunch with a note to meet me for happy hour... I won't be wearing these! Then durring the night I handed him the key to our "low budget" hotel room. GREAT NIGHT... We didn't stay the night... we had three kids to wake up to :o)

Another time I wrote him a questionaire all on sex. This he loved!!! Then according to how he answers it, I went to goodwill and bought a few things that I made into a super sexy outfit. I've done this several times... he loves these outfits more than what i'd buy at fredricks for sure. Of course I teased him all day with MY answers to the questions over text. He always gets home faster on these nights!

We have the most fun a couple can have in celebrating eachother. We have been married for 23 years and I could probably write a book on fun things to do without spending a fortune. Be creative and think outside the box. As far were to eat... take out, a bottle of wine, in the backyard, candlelight and music topped off with a desert you both can wear... more fun than the "Top of the Point"!!!

Happy Anniversary and best of luck to you on planning the night of your life :o)

I have been married for almost 10 years now and my husband still talks about the 1 year!!! I just made his favorite dinner at home lit some candles had a romantic dinner then the gift!!! I made him a coupon book with everything in it from free car wash (from me of course), a message, to a what ever he wanted in bed that night lol. Just get creative, and I can guarantee that something like that will make a more lasting impression then any thing you could ever buy... By the way the following year he made me one for my birthday ,,,, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!

Hi, N.--My husband and I have been married five 1/2 yrs. Every year, we go out to eat at the Top of the Rock restaurant at the Wyndham Buttes resort in Tempe. It is more expensive than we would typically do, but special for once a year. It is soooo romantic--up on top of a mountain, all windows, so you can see the city lights from any table, and piano music playing...very nice. Happoy Anniversary!

I don't know what kind of budget you have but this is a date idea I've been wanting to try with my husband. The Hyatt Regency at Scottsdale Gainey Ranch has a restaurant called Alto Ristorante e bar. It's resort casual attire so you don't have to worry about dressing up and each dinner comes with a complimentary gondola ride around the hotel's 7 acre lake. They even have a gondolier serenade you on your ride! It sounds very romantic and the Az Republic lists it as one of their most romantic dates. You can view the menu and info for the gondolas on the links below. Congrats on your first anniversary! =)

I believe the 1st anniversary gift is paper. I gave my husband a gift certificate (paper) to his favorite fast food restaurant.
