Hello all!
My ten year anniversary is coming up next month and I am drawing a blank as to what to get my husband. We normally don't exchange gifts, just cards and maybe dinner if we have time and can find a babysitter. But this is a big one and I want it to be a little more special than usual. He has been droping hints that he has gotten me a gift and it's not that I don't want to get him anything, it's that I don't have much money to spend and my hubby is one of those guys who has everything and doesn't wear jewelry; so I am stumped. I'm looking for some different ideas that will let hubby know how special he is and how much I love him. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you. =0)

Something sexy to wear and maybe dinner and a hotel stay if it's in the budget. If not, see if the kids can stay with grandparents.

We are in the exact same boat--will be married 10 years next week. Although I don't think he's bought me a gift. We are shipping the kids off to my mom's and spending the night at a local! B&B, where we will have a romantic dinner at a grown-up hour. :)

We just planned this all last night. LOL! Such is the life with little kids!
Happy Anniversary!

Get a fancy box, doesn't have to be expensive or large. It does need to be large enough to put index cards in.

Get some index cards. Write what you love about your husband. Write coupons for him to redeem from you. "A favorite meal, a massage, movie night, etc." Write a fond memory. If you have a digital camera and printer. You can take a picture of his favorite body part on you can put it on the card. Men like visuals. My fiance loves my cute toes. So I painted them and put on a toe ring and snapped a shot. He loves that picture.

If you don't write well, perhaps you can get someone to write it for you or type it out and print it and tape or glue it to the cards. You can use a pair a scissors to cut the edges of the cards into interesting shapes or patterns. Have fun with it. Hope this helps. K..

You could make a photo album of your favorite pictures from the past 10 years - either the old fashioned way or on a digital website like shutterfly, snapfish, etc. I just did this for my husband's 40th birthday with pictures of him from birth on up. He was totally surprised and loved it.

Hi M.,

Congrats! You can do a nice night out or try a night in. See if someone will take the kids for a couple hours & make a favorite meal at home & just hang out & talk. If you want to do a wrappable gift maybe try something sentimental. I did one of those picture pillowcases from Walmart. I had a relative take a picture of me & the kids & we put it on the pillowcase. It was cheap but ok quality. (you can also do ties, t-shirts etc) If you want an adventure I suggest trying a hot air balloon ride. They are really neat. Or if you don't want to spend much money you can do a scavenger hunt. (e.g. go to the carousel at the mall, find a store with a blue dress in the window etc.) You can leave clues with the sales clerks beforehand & then be waiting at the end of the hunt. It would be even better if you did the hunt together & then ended at a restaurant or something. (you would need someone else to help with that)
Or you could be like us & spend your 10th as a family. We went to an amusement park & just enjoyed being together. I think my husband & I said at least 50 times "can you believe how much our lives have changed in 10 years"
Congrats! Best of luck!

You want to make it romantic. Buy him a massage set with oils and some interesting sex toys or objects. You can make a romantic dinner and than change into a sexy night gown, have candles and music and have fun. Do this after the kids are in bed.

Hey M.. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and my rule was no gifts. So instead, my husband totally surprised me by taking me out to eat at the place where we had our first date. It was really nice, thoughtful and romantic. Then as a final surprise, he took me back to the place where we got married. He had called the place up 2 months prior to arrange it and they were so accomodating. They had 2 weddings going on, but they set us up outside (it was gorgeous weather that night) right by the outdoor fountain with our own table. They fully set the table and then proceeded to bring us out 3 full course meals!! My husband obviously didn't know they were going to do that (otherwise we wouldn't have gone out to dinner). To top it off, they brought out an anniversary cake. It was honestly the best anniversary I've ever had - so thoughtful of him and so romantic. Not sure if you live near where you got married, but what a great idea!!

Good luck and Happy Anniversary! :)

Hi M.,
Congratulations on this great milestone! A surprise night out - tickets to a show, concert, sport event where the two of you can enjoy a night out together would be a great gift. Or, put on your fanciest dress (or get a new one on clearance), get your hair done up, make yourself gorgeous and get a professinal portrait taken, frame a big 10x13 of yourself for him.
Enjoy your special day - my hubby and I will be celebrating 19 years next month and I have no clue what I'll do for the big one next year, we don't normally do gifts either.

Hey M., What is he into? my guy loves fixing stuff. He loves electronic gadgets too. I remember what I did now. After carefully thinking about this I put on my wedding dress. The veil . The whole thing. Shoes and when he came in he was full of tears and had a large Rose Bouquet in a Vase for me. I am married over 30 years now so we don't exchange gifts and we don't do the card thing anymore. But... we congratulate each other with lots of hugs and kisses and at work i call him all day long and when he gets home we talk about how we met, why we fell in love with each other in the first place. That helps us remember that we can still stay in love.I'm not much of a drinker.
