Made in USA (And Definitely Not China!) Toys???

With all of the recent news about lead in toys and other unsafe aspects of toys made in China, I am searching for toys that my 2 year old son would like that are actually made in the USA. Has anyone had any luck? I was able to find a wooden train set (Whittle Toys), but am having a hard time finding anything that I think he would like. Any tips would be appreciated!! Thanks!

www.turnertoys.com - made in the USA.

Also, Hearthsong.com, which is not completely USA-made toys, but they do test for safety (and have a lot of nice toys).

www.magiccabin.com. Someone sent me this link as "USA Made," but I can't find that on their website. They do say they have rigorous testing and require the toys they sell to meet various safety certifications.

Fat Brain Toys, which I have bought from before, now has a search that allows you to see products made in the USA: http://www.fatbraintoys.com/specials/made_in_america.cfm?...

Adding to my post after seeing the other response - Melissa & Doug is a great idea, and the original Melissa and Doug live right here in Elmwood Park, so that definitely is shopping local!

Also Oompa toys, Nova Natural, Rosie Hippos and Three Sisters. I don't have a link now, but do a search and they will be easy to find.

Jen,

I bought some of my daughter's toys from an on-line amish/natural store. The products have been great and my daughter loves them.
Good luck!

Try Doug & Melissa, not all are made in the USA, but a lot of them are.
