Low Cost Birthday Cake
I am trying to have a small party for my daughter on the 9th but money is super tight. We are doing a theme of Tinkerbell (bought the supplies for $20 a month ago from a catalog while we had extra cash)this year. I know that cakes can be pricey since everyone wants to charge extra for the plastic pieces & the flavoring & so on. Most of the time a 1/4 sheet cake costs almost $30. I am in Coral Springs & looking for ideas on a way to get a low cost cake. I'd love to do it myself but have zero talent. So, I begging you for suggestions! :)
Thanks!!

Thank you ladies for your responses! Though I no longer belong to any of the "clubs" I will check Wal-Mart out later today (Publix has been the place where we've paid too much for a cake in the past). Have a great day!

If you belong to BJs or know someone who belongs there you can get a 1/2 sheet for very cheap usually less than $25. If you bring in a picture of Tinkerbell (like from the plates or napkins) they will put it on the cake for free. It is a plain yellow, chocolate or mixed cake with no filling but it is so worth it if you are looking to save money. Their cakes are delicious as well.

I bought a half sheet at BJ's for $20.00. They put my son's pic on it and everything. It tasted really good.

Hi S.. Why don't you try Publix... They have great cakes & great designs from Disney. U can check all the designs out online or in the bakery dept. Best part is their cakes are delicious too! If u like cupcakes they also have really great cupcake cakes that are so easy for birthdays. Also I know that u get a money saving coupon if u join publix preschool pals or baby club(its free!)
Hopefully that helps u out. Good luck!

Stacey, Walmart has a great Tinkerbell cake i did for my daughter who turned 17 years old, they also have Tinkerbell cupcakes for $5.88 with Tinkerbell rings on top, the 1/4 sheet shouldn't cost you more than 20 dollars plus tax. I use to go to professional places but they just cost to much and i have 5 kids whose birthdays are all together, Sept 4th, 24th,25,26th and then October 12th, either i try to make my own or have Walmart do it. I hope this helps

S.,
Check with publix, their cakes are delicious and you can usually get one of their cakes that feeds around 15 - 20 people for under $30 decorated the way you want. Or even go the cheaper route and buy a plain cake and then buy tinker bell items and decorate the cake yourself.
Hope this helps.
