The new ads are driving me nuts. Any way to be alerted as when they will start? We are on this site because we have kids...that means sleeping, napping kids. And easily distracted kids. I'm not using youtube or other video sites right now because I don't want my kids jumping all over the computer. I rarely get to sneak onto this site for some "me" time, but these ads are killing that option. Who do tell at Mamapedia how disruptive these ads are? Anything other than this format, PLEASE!
Thanks to all who replied. Hmm. I ONLY get them on this site, so I don't know what's going on. I've remembered to mute this time, while I try to figure this out. I will check my spam settings, too.
Guess I don't hear them because I almost always have my computer muted.
I don't see much in the way of ads anyway because Firefox with add-ons Adblock Plus and No Script really tames the ads to a manageable level.
I have my speakers on right now & I don't hear ANYTHING???? I don't EVER hear anything, I see the ads but that's it....am I nuts, deaf, what??? All of my sites, games, etc. that are supposed to have sound do, so I am not sure what is happening to you, I DO agree that something needs to be different for you, I hate having something that I want to do interferring with my 'peace' since we have so little of that!
Not quite sure what ads you are asking about? I have my computer on mute so maybe that is why?
This has not happened to me yet. I keep my volume on because I run Quickbooks and I get the beep that my transactions are processed so I never turn the volume off.
I have seen some annoying flashing ads but have yet to hear one. UGH, I hope I don't get those ads....
not happening to me either. i do have some sites where it is, like sparkpeople, but it hasn't happened here yet.

I don't have my computer muted and I do not hear ads at all.
Maybe your spam settings need to be higher? Not sure.
Maybe it's a regional thing--I've heard other people mentioning it but here? All quiet.
