I was just wondering if anyone knows of a really good way to lose weight, and keep it off? I really have a hard time excersising as I watch 3 kids during the day, and when my husband gets home I am just so tired to work out... Also I am weaning my just barely 1 year old, and I am still hungry ALL the time.. I know I need to cut back on my eating so I don't gain weight that I don't want. Any suggestions on how to get rid of that extra hunger?

Of course I haven't seen a difference yet, but I am going to take all of the advice I get and try and make it work for me! I really appreciate everyone's responses and plan on reporting later on to let you know if I have lost weight.. thanks again!

The creator Holly Rigsby, created this product especially for busy moms and women. It only requires 15 mins honestly. A program you can do at home with minimal equipment, (get the kids to workout with you). I have used her system now for 1 year and have lost 30lbs and 20 + inches. It truly is a lifestyle system, no quick fixes, so you can keep the weight off. Holly also offers advice (the truth)on those fad diets or quick fixes. She has a FREE web community, a place where you can get support, ask questions, and connect with other women going through this journey with you.http://www.fityummymummy.com/cbae/?a=9yJyJ4vJy&p=1. I know you are probably sceptical, I know I was, but, this is truly a ligit product and will work if you follow it. Check out the community there are a lot of women whom this has work for. Holly also offers a money back guarantee or even a 21 day trial for just $4.95 http://www.fityummymummy.com/cbae/?a=9yJyJ4vJy&p=3. I believe in this product, it does work or eles I won't be posting it, as i rarly give out advice on this site. I see so many women wanting the magic pill, but there is none. Hi C.,
I think you just have to watch what you do eat for now, until you are done nursing. Don't have sugar treats or greasy (chips) treats in the house that tempt you, keep only healthy snacks, fruits and veggies. I drink hot tea when I want to snack too much, it seems to ease the cravings for food, try green tea, it is really good for you. There are times I get hungry but realize I only want junk food, if it isn't there I don't eat anything and have avoided taking in a lot of calories.
Good luck,
SarahMM

Make sure that you are drinking enough water. Often the body sends cues of hunger when you're really thirsty. I have found that if I have a drink before eating something the urge often goes away. Believe me, water is not my favorite thing! Also, keeping a food journal and writing everything that I eat down makes me more aware of what I am putting in my mouth!! I have lost 8 pounds in the last month following these 2 steps. I am in the exact same position as you with a busy life and an almost one year old that I am nursing. Good luck!!

Hi C.,

I am an Exercise and Nutrition consultant for Total Health & Fitness. www.thfonline.com
We teach the 3 rules of nutrition 1. eat every 2-3 hours 2. eat 5-6 times a day 3. eat for activity. When you fuel your body properly with the correct ratio of carbs, protein and healthy fats and follow the 3 rules of nutrition your blood sugar stays even and your metabolism stays high, so you burn more calories. You feel satisfied with the correct ratios so you are not feeling hungry all the time. I know at your age with young children it is hard to fit exercise in, but... it is a must! 3 days of cardio and 3 days of resistance training. If you would like I could give you more information at a goal assessment at Total Health & Fitness at no charge to you!
Take Care,
K.

here's what i did, having little time to or energy to exercise as well. first, for two(or three, depending on how much weight you want to lose) weeks cut your breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals in half. in between meals eat TWO healthy snacks, i liked apples or bananas and popcorn(light). the trick is to train your stomach to eat less, having gotten used to eating a lot while pregnant/nursing. i dropped all my baby weight and then some after i was done. And don't diet, restricting food will only make you want it more, and like me, probably more likely to overindulge. and also, to increase your energy levels you've got to find some time to exercise a little. We're mothers, but we still need time just for ourselves! good luck!

Please visit my website at http://www.cinchplan.com/marycamp
you will find a lot of information there about Shaklee's weight loss plan. I too don't have a lot of time for exercise and I really like Cinch because I am NEVER hungry and it contains Luceine to help retain muscle and burn fat. On most diets you lose fat as well as muscle and it keeps the diet cycle going. In fact I know several people who use Cinch everyday even though they're not trying to lose weight because it's such a complete meal. Good Luck with whatever you choose, I know losing weight is always a challenge (especially with little ones leftovers all over the place) :)

When you are hungry eat zero calorie items like veggies. I'm not a big fan of lots of raw veggies, but it helps. Also drink lots of water. Most people don't drink enough. Find yourself a mug that you know you need to drink 3 of the mug full to get your 8 cups a day. That works the best for me.

Concentrate on the number of calories you are eating, and by tweeking your diet just a bit, you will find that you eat better and more.

good luck

Hello C.-
I'm right there with ya! My son is just one, my oldest is 5 and there in one in the middle! We are almost weaned, only nursing because it comforts him. This has worked for me: only eat when you are hungry. I know that sounds silly, as you said you seem to be hungry all the time, but make sure it is your BODY saying you are hungry, not your MIND. When your stomach growls, eat (I eat a 1/2 portion of whatever I had in mind). Then put the food in a inconvenient place and wait for it to growl again. If there is snack food on the bar, table or in a convenient place,I will eat it, so I make it a process to get it out. I found that I was eating all day and never really knowing it..just a bit here, a bite there, and having meals at appropriate times. I am a small person, and not largely overweight, am still nursing at morning and night, and lost 5 pounds just by noticing when I was eating. Just a thought. There is a whole program involved if you really get into it, but this the basic idea of the whole thing. Let me know if you want the whole sha-bang. Good Luck!

Until its been a good 4-6 weeks AFTER you've weaned then don't worry about losing weight. Your body is designed to hang onto extra weight for the baby while nursing and until you've totally dried up and all those hormones are gone its a losing battle.

Once all thats done, you have to find a way to commit to exercise! Take the kids on walks to the park (it was 60 yesterday, theres no excuse!) Get up earlier and get it out of the way in the morning or tough it out at the end of the day when you're tired. It sucks, but you need to do it. I know its rough, but you'll have more energy once you start exercising again.

Then eat a little less. More salads and carrot sticks, one slice of bread instead of two.

As for the hunger, let me know. I still get up regularly at 2am starving :-) The Dr didn't have much of an answer either, even after a review with a dietician.GL!!!! You can do it!!!

Hi C.,

First and foremost - know that you are amazing for being stay at home mom who tends another child - way to go. Give yourself a big huge hug for doing all you do. Ok - now if you are serious about health and weight loss there are lots of great programs and things out there. What I would suggest you do first is look at exactly where you are at right now - if you don't know your current weight/fitness level there won't be a starting point. After that you can decide what your goals are. When you know what your goals are then you can evaluate what your patterns are - do you like to have someone to be accountable to like a coach or weight loss consultant? Do you prefer that to be one on one or in a group setting? Do you enjoy exercise or is it something you haven't decided is a good thing yet? After you have asked your self these questions and answered them authentically then you can evaluate which programs might work for you. The program that worked best for me after my forth child was Jenny Craig - it taught me portion control and I lost 30 pounds on the program, unfortuneatly I never got to the matenance stage of the program because I became pregnant with our fifth child. Way fun. I guess my point in this is to have you do some homework to find what works for you before you spend money and effort on a weight loss system that might not fit your needs. Anyway - good luck with your goals - - you can accomplish anything your heart chooses into. Enjoy the process - you are worth it!

I've got 3 kids and just weaned my youngest 4 months ago. I'm finally feeling normal, fewer crazy hormones and less sleep deprivation. You need to just take care of the basics first like sleep and stress and I agree with trying to drink more, too. Then, do a little at a time to begin with. Your motivation will increase as your abilities do, but try not to feel bad about it. You aren't the only one struggling to manage life's demands and feeling bad that you don't look perfect at the same time.

Hi C.,

Sometimes it seems overwhelming when you are trying to lose weight. Everyone offers all kinds of advice. There are a lot of fad diets out there that can confuse things even further. The most effective thing I have found is to eat six small meals a day (every three hours or so starting within one hour of waking up.)

Eat very clean. Meaning no processed foods. If it comes in a box with more than one ingredient, don't eat it. Small amounts of protein with each meal (Small meaning 2-3 oz.) Fruits and veggies and a small amount of carbs with your meals closest to lunch and dinner time. (1/2 a cup of rice, or half a baked or sweet potato.)

The key is to prepare your food ahead of time so you will not go too long without eating and make poor choices while hungry. It sounds like a lot of work, but if you invest a few hours shopping and cooking one day a week, the rest of the week will be a cinch.

Good Luck!

D.
