I know I have waited too long for my son's first dentist visit so I need to get on it - any recommendations for a pediatric denist in the olathe area? I can guarantee this is not going to be a good experience for any of us, so the more kid patient the better.

So What Happened?

Second day of postings, I called Jenkins and LeBlanc (Dr. Fales wasn't on my insurance plan), it was amazing! I called and got an appt the next day. Evan had a little accident the night before so had to cram a drs. visit in that day too which meant total upset of day and skipping nap so I was expecting a total nightmare. He thought the waiting room was a playground, the fish tank lured him to the back rooms, the baloon and stickers and tv kept him entertained through the dentist part of the exam, he loved the bubble gum polish and didn't even flinch when they used the slurpy thing. He wasn't too fond of the flouride, but they were so fast about it, then cramming a token in his hand to pick out a toy, a bag of stickers, toothpaste and a Cars toothpaste based on his reaction to the stickers and then sent him on his way with a cup of ice cream. and best part of all, no cavities!!! thanks for the advice.

Take a moment to check out this website: www.kidsmilekc.com. Dr. Jenkins and LeBlanc are pediatric dentist that put the WOW factor in serving children and families. Our sons at 2 and 4 enjoyed their first experience...and really needed some serious dental work. The care of the staff is incredible...and the movies, decor, activities in the waiting area, toys, ice cream, and balloons after the visit are just a few things that will help ease your 3 year old into the dental care routine. They have 3 locations...the one in Shawnee off of K7 may be perfect for you.

http://www.kidsmilekc.com/ - Dr. Michael LeBlanc at Jenkins and LeBlanc is awesome. They have three locations - Overland Park, Shawnee and KCK. I took my 4 your old there for the first time when he was three and he loved it. The staff is amazing. They know how to handle small kids and make the experience a great one, not painful like you expect. My son acutally likes to go. It is totally set up for the kids!!! I just can't say enough about this office.

We love Jenkins and LeBlanc as well. They offer sedation if you bring a physical with you. That's the only way my son can tolerate it.

I also take my kids (7 and almost 3) to Jenkins and LeBlanc, and they both love going. Video games, soft serve ice cream, movies, fish tanks, and toys all make the visit very pleasant!

We like Dr. John T. Fales, Jr. in Olathe, KS. His office is 13496 South Arapaho Drive, 66062, ###-###-####. They have a Golden Retriever dog as their mascot, that's always there at the office and they have fish aquariums with tropical fish. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and the employees are always friendly. They have e-mail reminders that they send you, if you want to include your e-mail, etc.
We love them!

I can't recommend a better place than where I take my kids, to David Cobb in Olathe, off 127th & Murlen area. His office is so kid friendly I can't stress enough. I've taken my kids there since before they were 2, and they are now 10 and 12. They are very patient, and know their way around getting the job done without making your kids scared, and are always full of praise, and they get small toys every time they follow directions. One of the best decisions I've made for them. ###-###-#### if you're interested.

Fales pediatric dentistry on 135th near Chuck E. Cheese is good. I take both my 3year old and 8year old there. They also deal with a lot of special needs adults there, so I'm sure they'll have the patience for your little one. I know my kids like going there.

We have gone to Dr. Fales off Santa Fe-by Kohls. My 3 and 4 year olds will go back by themselves-after their first visit. On their 1st visit they go to a special rm, after that they go in an open area just like any dentist office. the staff have all been really great and you get a sheet after the visit saying everything that they did(they also come and and talk to you as well).

We use Dr. David Parrish/ Jamie Stinnet, they have an office in Olathe off Mur-len between 127th and Santa Fe. They let parents go back if they want and are very good with the kids.

We recently had Nikki Gale come speak with our students about her dentist office and she was wonderful. She was speaking to 40 kiddos at one time and did great with them. If she can handle that and keep them intrigued then I definately think she could handle one afraid kiddo. She was very through about explaining the different types of equipment that she used and why she was doing what she was doing. I don't think that she is a pediatric dentist, so it could be that you could switch to her for the whole family. She is located at 304 Clairborne and her number is ###-###-####
