Hi, Mamas! We moved here about 18 months ago and are still searching for a really great authentic Mexican restaurant in the Keller area. No "Tex Mex", please! If you know of any to try, please let me know!!! Thanks!

What can I do next?

On 377 just north of 1709 there's a place that has a pretty good crowd most of the time. I'm not sure of the name but it's in a little house on the east side of 377, if you pass the Judge Beans you've gone too far. I've never been there but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet. You might need to drive south a bit down 377 or Beach closer to downtown to get some authentic though.

Los Molcajetes is a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant in North Fort Worth....Western Center at Beach. Awesome food!

There's a place called Plantation in "Down Town" Keller that I haven't been to personally, but somebody told me it was good and more on the "authentic" side. It's on Olive right off of 377 (not far from 1709).

Hi S..
I feel your pain!! We're originally from CA too and the mexican food here tends to make us VERY homesick...if not just sick. haha. Anyway, we're in North FW (near Keller) and really like this little hole-in-the wall called Alvarados. They actually have shredded beef tacos and enchiladas with real RED sauce. Not chili con carne or queso yuck! Anyway, it's in NRH off of Davis and Grapevine Hwy. For a nicer restaurant we do love Joe T Garcia's (like home) or Playa de Maya (almost like home). We've been here for 5 years and still miss our food from home (LA area). Take care and welcome!!
