I'd think it was Roseola, too. Here's a link to Ask Dr. Sears to see if the symptoms match: http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/t083600.asp
Both of my babies had that when they were just about a year old. Good luck to you.

My son had a high fever around the age your son is now and he got a rash on the top of his head, what I can remember is it was red kind of looked like welts and when I took him to the doctor they said it was normal because of his fever but maybe calling the doctor and talking to them will put your mind at ease.

My daughter gets this whenever she is hot or has a fever. It is probably just a heat rash. If you get her temp down and cool her skin it should go away. If the rash just hangs on, you may want to take her to the doc. It takes a day or two of keeping her cool to get it to go away

sounds like she might have fifths disease...not to worry the little bumps go away after a few days of not having a fever. It is just a fever induced infection which normally manifests on the face and hands then goes to the body. My daughter gets it almost every time she has a high fever. It is not contagious just looks bad for a few days. Best of luck.

If the fever lasts for longer than a day, call the doc. It could be several things, and the only way to know for sure is to have her checked out. It's probably something that can be easily treated.

Did the rash start after the fever? Is the rash primarily on her torso? If so, it may be roseola, a pretty common and mild childhood illness. Your daughter is at the age kids typically get it. This all being said, I'm not a dr, so you should probably see your pediatrician for confirmation.

My daughter had this happen several months ago. She had a low grade fever and then a couple days later developed a rash on her stomach. I took her in and they said the rash was due to a virus and to wait it out. It was gone by the next day. So, I would say don't panic, but for peace of mind and just to be safe, you may want to check in with the doctor to confirm a diagnosis.
Good luck!

Its probably Roseola, its totally harmless and usually passes on its own very quickly. If it seems to bother her or doesn't go away soon, especially the fever, call her doctor, otherwise just help her be comfortable!

It is most likely viral but a trip to the doctor is probably in order.
