I know its not roseoly thee year old had it a few years back, so I know what it looks like.
What.could it possibly be?

Well the rash feels like little pimples, but everything close together. She's up to date
with all her shots. I called her Dr office and talked to the answering service just waiting for abcall back.

My daughter just had that and they said it was an allergic reaction to the fever/virus. We used Benadryl it went away in a few days.

I'd say hand, foot and mouth too. This just happened to a friend of mine. Fever, then she thought she was better and the rash showed up. I'd take her to the doctor right away. The rash can be mild or it can be extremely painful, itchy and blistery for quite some time.

Yes, could be scarlet fever - go to the doctor's office on this one.

Could be scarlet fever, which is one of the ways that strep manifests in babies (most children under age 3 don't get strep throat they get different reactions and scarlet fever is one of them). Does the rash blanch when you touch it (meaning if you press on her skin where the rash is, when you remove your finger, is the skin white for a second before turning read again)? Here is some info on scarlet fever. If it's that, she'll need some antibiotics to clear up the strep infection. My pediatrician always liked to see a child for a rash because it's hard to tell what it is over the phone and some can be signs of bacterial infections like strep while others are viral and still others are a topical reactions.

Hope she's feeling better soon!

Could be measles, chicken pox, Fifth or maybe something else.
Take her to the doctor and have them check it out.
A low grade fever would not automatically send us to the doctor but the rash would.

What kind of rash (scaly, dry, bumpy etc). Call your doctor first and warn them. Fever plus rash usually means highly contagious and you may want to quarantine her from the rest of the family. Is she up to date on all her shots?

Is it a blistery rash? Does it itch? Was she exposed to anyone who had chicken pox or other type of rash? If she doesn't have any other symptoms, it's probably a viral rash. It's pretty common in the little ones according to my ped's office. She probably had a cold virus that gave her the fever and now she's got the rash. My son had one at that age. Their immune systems are still developing and that's why kids commonly get them. Call your ped's office and speak to a triage nurse just to be sure, but she should be fine in a day or two. Incidently, my ped's office doesn't recommend treating a lowgrade fever (less than 102) unless the child is uncomfortable. Fevers are actually beneficial and are the body's way of ridding itself of the bugs.

Sounds like possibly Fifth Disease or Roseola, but it's difficult to say without seeing the patient. It's more likely to be Fifth Disease as Roseola tends not to affect the face.

I would get her to the pediatrician today.

ETA: I very much doubt measles or chicken pox as they start on the trunk and then spread to the extremeties.

Like Nellie said, it could be Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease....also known as Coxsackie Virus. It is JUST a virus that causes fever for about two days and then can possibly cause blisters on hands, feet, butt, and throat. No antibiotics for it.....it just has to run it's course and you treat symptoms. We piggy backed ibuprofen and tylenol around the clock for the fever.

Both of my daughters had it two weeks ago. It is contagious, but most adults don't get it or get it as bad. My daughters only had blisters in their throats. It is going around pretty bad right now!

Our daughter would get a rash toward the end of her fevers when she was around 2. I always took her to the doctor and they said it was just a side affect from the fever and that it would clear up in a couple of days. The last time she got a rash it quickly spread all over her body arms, legs, feet, tummy and all. She was fine and they looked liked pimples that had nothing to pop (no blister) just tiny red bumps. I hope the doc calls you back soon. Good luck.

Could also be hand, foot and mouth...very contagious, not much you can do for it. Rash and fever could be a number of things...best to contact the doc. Good luck.

If she no longer has a fever it's most likely not measles, chicken pox, Fifth disease. Besides didn't she have her immunizations. I suggest it's a virus. This has happened to me. It's fairly common to develop a rash after having a fever. There is nothing to be done for a virus except to make the person comfortable. Rest, fluids.

To be on the safe side, call the pediatrician and talk with the advice nurse.

You defiantly want to get her checked out. Sounds like it could be something viral but could be chicken pox. Even kids that have had the vaccine can get it.

She'll need to be seen for confirmation. It could be a virus and the fever was a symptom of the virus, and a warning of what was to come. Whether or not it's contagious is something you'll need to know, so definitely make sure she's seen today. Does your pediatrician accept walk-ins?

Does she have any mosquito, bug, or spider bites? Check her and get her into the doctor today. It could be any number of things but our dr gave us a rule..."any rashes we want to see them right away." Rashes can be a symptom of numerous illness, anything from common allergic reaction to limes disease. The spectrum is to wide to guess so it's always better to have them checked.

Peace and Blessings,

Sounds like Fifth's Disease. My son had it and what you are describing sounds exactly like what he had. Not much you can do other than let it run it's course.

It could be something more serious, as mentioned, or it could be something mild. My son had that same type of rash, but without the fever (that we noticed), and it ended up being just a virus that needed to run it's course. I would definitely make an appointment with the doctor to get a more accurate diagnoses, and just make sure she is comfortable in the meantime. We were recommended to use Aveno baby bath to sooth the skin.
