Hey mamas!! My husband and I decided not to exchange gifts since we need a new T.V.!! We will be buying our first flat screen and have no idea where to start?!?!? We want a 42" that is a great price, not too expensive! We just don't know the difference between the LCD and LED and don't know which one to choose, they both look pretty much the same. We have a 2yo and 6yo, so that it is a huge factor since they touch the screen sometimes, mainly my 2yo!! What do you think??? Thanks mamas, and Happy Holidays!!!!! ~A.

We can't mount it to the wall right now as our T.V. space is in the corner of a room and our house is on the market!! We'd eventually love to wall mount one some day, but it won't be for a couple years!!

What can I do next?

Best Buy told us that LCD is cheaper and it's not that much different but the LED is the newer technology. We have LCD and they are fine and my advice would be to ask the store before you buy how each works and go from there. We are happy with our LCD TV's though. I know the lighting is different in the two and the LED may last longer.

The LED TVs are much thinner than the LCD. We have both and both have amazing picture quality, but for a wall mount, the LED lays almost flat to the wall and is gorgeous!

If I'm not mistaken, LED is more energy efficient hence they cost a bit more.

LED definitely LED since you have screen touchers.

Put it up on the wall and your kids can't reach it.
If you have the cash, Sams carries a Sharp Aquos tv that is amazing, but I don't know if it is LED or LCD.
