My husband is condering getting Lasik surgery and has short-listed these two doctors. Dr. Boothe and Dr. Whitman. Have you used either of these doctors or heard of them? We are trying to decide who to use. Thanks.

What can I do next?

My hubby used Boothe and it was the best $3,000 he has ever spent. I never needed glasses so I never knew what he went through every morning not being able to see. BUT, my best friend also used him and she had a bad experiance. After she had her's done she said it felt like sand was in her eyes all the time. She has a lot of money so she didn't care if he wanted to fix them for free all she wanted was them fixed. So she ended up using someone else to fix them. It is like a cattle heard my hubby said. You have lines of people waiting in his office to get them done where you are just a number.

I had mine done by Dr. Tylock in 2003 and i had bad vision, thin corneas and stigmatism and now i can see wonderfully. I had an enhancement done about 9 months after i did the initial surgery at no cost to me because my stigmatism was still there a little bit. My husband also used Dr. Tylock in 2004 for his and had great success as well. I went for an eval at Dr. Boothe, but after the treatment I received at Dr. Tylocks I knew my choice was clearly going to be Dr. Tylock. They are much more personal, no cattle call feelings and I felt very comfortable putting my eyesight in their hands. I actually met one on one with Dr. Tylock on my first visit but never saw Dr. Boothe and spent more time with his finance manager than anyone else.

I recommend Dr. Tylock far above Boothe.

My father in law used Dr. Boothe over 6 years ago, and still has awesome results!

I have done anesthesia for Dr Whitman for over 4 years. I would not think twice about having him do my Lasik (if I needed it) or referring my friends and family to him, I have in fact referred a bunch of people. Since I work in the field, people always seek me out at partes, etc. I have heard many horror stories about Dr Boothe. I do not know anything about Dr Tylok.

Good luck to your husband.

I used Dr. Boothe. I had my eyes done in 2002 and have had no problems. But...his office is like a cattle call. It is VERY impersonal and seems to be all about the numbers.

My husband and I used Dr. Gary Tylock over in Irving and both had good experiences. My sister-in-law and a friend both used Dr. Boothe a few months ago and both had far more problems than my husband and I did. I'm not sure if they had more problems with their eyes to begin with, but within a few days my husband and I were completely back to normal and had fantastic vision. They on the other hand took weeks to completely heal and my friend ended up with an infection in one eye. Best of luck.
