Laparoscopic Surgery for Endometriosis

I'm having a laparoscopic surgery on Monday to treat any endometriosis that might be present and causing pain. I am looking for any insight any of you might have on what to expect from the surgery. I have heard it is pretty common. I am most concerned with how long I will be out of commission. :)

What can I do next?

I also have endometriosis. Sorry never had Laparoscopic Surgery. I was told that I would never have children, mine was so bad. However I found that exerices, really helped. I have not had pain in 15 years. I did have two children. Wish you the best of luck.

I have suffered from endo for 40+ years...and have had many laparocopys and laparotomys. The lap surgery you are going to do is not so bad. I really was ready to get going the next day. I slept almost all of the first day right after surgery. But give yourself time to rest so you get back on your feet faster. I do hope the lap will relieve your endo. It will NOT be a cure. There is NO cure. I have had a complete hysterectomy including my ovaries and tubes. And yet, I just had a lap this winter because there was more endo. Unless the dr gets out 100% (and that is unlikely) you will be dealing with this a long time...perhaps your entire life. Contact me if you want to talk more about it. I tried everything they had for endo..and not much has changed in 40 years. I am 56 years old. L.

I agree with the other posts. It's not that bad. The bloating was kind of a pain and there was some tenderness that lasted several days. Make sure you have some pants with loose wastelines nothing that buttons or has too much elastic. Other than that, the pain from the endo is probably worse then the recovery so you should be fine. Hang in there, hope your surgery is a success and that your symptoms improve. :)

I was out of order for about a day. Thta's it. I was working the next day.

It wasn't painful. I just couldn't get back into my pants for awhile because of the bloating.
