I bought my daughter a ridiculously cute dress from Justice, it wasnt cheap, but I had a weak moment. Anyways, she wore it yesterday for the first time for spring pictures.
Its the first thing I saw when she got off the bus. A huge ketchup stain in the white part. Its kind of like a white tank on top (cotton-blend) and then rufflely cuteness from the waist down.
I made her take it off, shouted it, washed it in cold. And its still there! Help!!
Mix equal parts of liquid detergent and powdered bleach and work it into the stain and let sit over night, then add to 1 gallon of cool water 1/2 cup of liquid detergent and 1/2 cup of powdered bleach and let soak over night, then launder the garment in cool water and regular amounts of detergent and powdered bleach. This always works for me, it gets even Chocolate out of whites. Good luck.
Vinegar.
Let it soak in 100% vinegar overnight.
Oxyclean will not hurt the color. Soak it over night with a scoop of Oxyclean. My son once made a huge mess with ravioli, all over a school shirt. I shouted it and soaked, did not come out. I soaked for a day and a hlaf in Oxy and it was gone.
The same thing for a cream colored blouse for my daughter. My younger one got my foundation all over it. It would not come out. I soaked it for 2 days. I could not bleach it.
I've never used them, but Chlorox makes a bleach pen and since it is on the white part of the dress you can probably just target the stain without worrying about messing up the cute ruffely part.
I second (or third) the Clorox pen. It got chocolate off of pants that had been washed and dried completely.
go get a chlorox bleach pen!! I have used them on so much stuff that I thought would be ruined. Just go lightly with it, and rinse it off before you put it in the washer, and make sure you only get it on the white part. Hope it works for you!!
Try soaking it in Oxy-clean overnight. I've had all stains removed by doing that.
I've had success w/ a bar of white ivory soap. Rub the heck out of the stain (even though they say you're not supposed to do this) w/ the bar and then wash again. Hopefully you didn't put it in the dryer; that can seal in the stain permanently ...
Soak it for several days in a strong concentration of soap and all fabric bleach. This can help even the most stubborn stains.
Molly, try Fels Naptha. It is a bar laundry soap and it works wonders. It is usually with the laundry soap in the store.It has been around since forever.
Have you tried the Clorox or Tide bleach pens yet? That's what they're for: spots like that. I would get one treat it delicately. Like by putting a towel underneath and hand washing (with a washcloth) after the stain is gone. When you have mixed white and color clothes, it's a pain, I know. But it should work. Otherwise see if the dry cleaners can help
