I am taking up a new job soon and will be travelling frequently on business. I am looking for a very very light laptop to keep in touch and work on. Any recommendations? I have back problems and you'd be surprised how even 8 lb in a shoulder bag triggers the pain!!

What can I do next?

they are all expensive, but if you want to have the wireless capibilites go with the ipad from your cell provider, this way if you can afford it you can get wireless 4g/3g with it and you can have internet whenever, and you can use wi fi when at a hotel or at home or anywhere with wifi access

I love love love my IPad. It's light and you can get keyboards for it if you feel the need for one. I also have a laptop that since I got the ipad I don't hardly use it at all.

Figure out what you will use it for the most and go from there. My kids use their iPads for Internet, FB and are getting keypads for doing homework. My brother is in sales and has an iPad but wants a Kindle Fire because its smaller and can fit in a jacket pocket and for him its more PC compatible. My fiance has a Kindle Fire that he can run his programs on for work, whereas the iPads were not compatible.

I agree with Becca. I will also note that the little netbooks are handy too, because they are affordable and U. friendly. I have three netbooks. I added more memory to one of them and it functions just like my normal expensive lap top. That said, I don't game online but understand a netbook would not do the job. For work I'd say the iPad, for the money I'd say the netbook will do the job as well. I think you can still get the HP netbooks for around 299. Good luck!
