I am new to the Vista area. I am looking for a good pediatrician to take my twin 4.5 year olds. I'm willing to drive to see a good Dr. I'm looking for a Dr. who belongs to a practice with more then one Dr. (for the emergencies. We came from a Dr.'s office with three great physicians that didn't push medications and were always available to answer questions. Hoping to find something similar. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thank you for the recommendations. Moving to a new place is hard, especially when you have to find new Dr.'s for the little ones. Your recommendations were great and I think I'll be able to find someone to meet our needs. Thanks angain for taking the time to help this mom out!

I hope this response isn't too late but here's a suggestion anyway. I like La Costa Pediatrics. There are 2 male Dr's and 2 female nurse practioners there. They are awesome! Only about a 10-15min drive for me. I live on 78 and sycamore. You can take rancho santa fe all the way to the office. These dr's know there stuff and are always available. They don't judge but only give proper medical advice. There is someone on call always and there are weekend hours at their other location in La Jolla. Dr Hitchcock is a longtime pediatrician who owns the practice and is on several medical boards, does informative speeches to vaccine companies and has extensive knowledge with children that have asthma. Him and his staff are great. The only thing is that they only take PPO and tricare, I think. Here's the # ###-###-####. Good luck!

We LOVE La Costa Pediatrics, particularly Dr. Warner. But, Dr. Hitchcock & the others are awesome as well.

I love Dr. Carpenter on Vista Way. I had picked her only because I was having my baby at Tri-City then was going to changed doctors to the Children's Hospital Clinic in Escondido where my two step-sons go. I ended up sticking with her. I love her... She answers my questions, she even recommended against a vaccine last year and wouldn't reccommend H1N1 until after she had a presentation from the head of infectious disease from Children's Hospital. I am not impressed with the appearance of the outer office, but her and her assistant, Jeanne Marie, are fabulous!!! I have called at 9:30 to get in with a sick baby and there was a 10:10 appt available!!

My kids go to Dr Victor Dalforno with Greater Tri Cities IPA (we have a HMO). He is an EXCELLENT doctor (I went to him as a kid). He is located in Oceanside near Tri City Hospital. His phone # is ###-###-####.
