hello moms,
i recently bought my 2 yr old these adorable panda boots (she loves pandas) but the soles are very slippery. if she walks on a non-carpeted surface, she ends up slipping because of the boots. is there anything that i can buy to put on the bottoms of the boots to solve this issue? the boots are so cute and i'd hate to let them go to waste.

I've also heard of people using puffy paint on smooth soled shoes or socks to add traction. I agree that it would probably be easiest to scuff them on the sidewalk, though.
They sell non skid adhesive soles, easiest thing would be to take them out on asphalt and scratch up the bottom.
You can purchase a gritted sole adhesive or take a nail or screw and scrape the bottoms.
You can purchase a "sole" to glue onto the boot's sole. I've seen them in the section for polishes, water proofing, heel grippers, that sort of thing. I think they're made of a flexible vinyl with a bumpy surface.
You might also be able to rough up the sole with heavy duty sand paper or a file.
Are these boots slippers or shoes? If they're slippers or slipper-socks, there is some sort of paint that is supposed to provide traction to the fabric.
If it's a real shoe sole, what I do is to go outside and scuff the soles up on the pavement to break up that pretty smooth surface.
they sell non-skid, stick ons, in the women's shoe dept ( I have purchased them at Carson's). I have bought them for my high heels when the bottoms are super slippery, so I know for a fact that they work great. I'm sure you can even get them at Target in their shoe dept as well.

We always do the scrapping on the asphalt thing, but some soles stay slippery regardless. I had some slick soled boots last winter and almost busted my arse a few times and that was AFTER trying the asphalt scrape. Luckily my cat peed on them and I had to throw them away and wont be sliding around this winter ;)
One side of the Velcro with adhesive..... It should stay on there at least until she outgrows them!

My mom used to put duct tape on the bottom of our shoes. From what I remember..it worked.
They sell the adhesive slip guards at Payless shoes and Target.. Cheap and easy..
are these indoor or outdoor boots? If they're indoor, maybe the non-skid decals for bathtubs might work, for outdoor use maybe something sturdier like the non-skid strips that are used for stair treads?

Puffy pens work great for this....you can paint dots or a nice design. It does not come off in the wash if you need to wash them!
Get some sandpaper from Lowes or Home Depot and scuff up the bottom of the boots so that she has traction.
